I will call them the those ones. It's only now that I realize we don't really have a name for 1900-1910 either. I call them the old timeys.

That would be the '2000's', or 'turn of the millennium'. Amusingly, a decade from now will be the beginning of the 'Twenty-twenties'.
....in a desperate attempt to make cricket more appealing.

It just isn't going to work!

I'll be honest with you here--I have absolutely no idea what you just meant. You have completely lost me, my friend.

I think it's already been dubbed as this.

My question is for the next decade. (2010-2020) What will we call that?
Once we get beyond 2020, we're fine, it'll be Twenties, Thirties, etc.
But there's nothing we can really call that one.

Why not go with the trend and call it the plural form of ten, tens? Not as cool as some of the other decades, but that's probably what's gonna happen.

EDIT: Epic postcount!

...Aha. I...kinda see? I read that, and immediately called that "T20". Apart from using the cricket bat in other ways, I don't really see how calling the name something exciting would make it exciting. But, point taken, it's also the unknown name of a semi-worldwide game, not just a decade.

As the decade responsible for such abominable acts as 9/11 and Lady Gaga, I think we should dub it "The Suckies."

Ex: Every decade stood for something, but the suckies were noted for it's lack of any true aim or goal.

Dunno... We have to come up with something cool, and catchy... Like... The bourbon years.
Id' call it the "tens", but I have a name for the last two-three years: "Years of the Whining Minorities".

I absolutely refuse to call this decade the "noughties".

Good god, it sounds like the kind of name a really chipper magazine columnist thought up when they believed they were being particularly clever.
