What would you change for Mass Effect 3?

Paragon/Renegade.

I think I've discussed that with somebody in the Halo fans group, but my opinion still stands that this morality system shit has to go.
I agree. It instantly sets something up as a good or bad choice, like the decision to rewrite or destroy the heretic Geth. Some choices are subjective.
Personally i really like the: Paragon/Renegade system, because you know, what you are doing, and tells you, if your the biggest badass in the galaxy.
I don't want the game to tell me what i'm doing is good or bad. Show me the consequences of my actions, don't tell me that what I did was evil because "it was bad". The Heretic Geth choice loses a lot of value when you attach Paragon/Renegade points to it. What should be a difficult choice no matter how you play the game is boiled down to a good/bad decision based on whether you're Paragon or Renegade.

Dragon Age didn't use a morality system and I felt the decisions were much better in that game because of it. By leaving a gray area you force the player to think the decision through and weight their options more heavily.

Moral system, it made the game more linear than any RPG i've played before!
Haveing good or evil options as in ME2 broke immersion 100% for me since it didn't let me choose what i said in the different situations myself. Just blur the lines between them so it's not "Theres good, bad and something completely irrelevant" -.-

It would take a lot of work, but a clever rehash of the morality system that does not boil down to Mother Gandhi Theresa or Darth Vadersaurus Rex.

Inclusion of some more stealth mechanics. Infiltrator was a step in the right direction.

I'd love to see less linearity in the movement system, so it's not just cover, shoot, cover, shoot, etc.,
Alright, I'm jonesing for jetpacks.

And a combat/class/inventory systems that falls somewhere between that complex, slightly messy ME1 style and the dumbed-down action-oriented ME2 style.

Make Hacking a tad more interesting and significant to the game. Maybe add a passive ability slot which affects it, like in KOTOR.

It's completely petty of me to say so, but I'd love less loading screens. Am I the only one who kinda liked the elevator?

...Anyone?

I did. I don't know who would prefer loading screens over the elevator, actually.

So basically you want the Hammerhead and it's associated missions

OT: Honestly, I would like the exploration back too. My favourite thing about ME1 was to comb the surface of strange new worlds and see all the possibilities of the galaxy.

But barring that, I want to be rid of the mining monstrosity from ME2.

I just want one thing from you, Bioware: Mix a little Freespace 2 into the recipe. Do that and I will be your money-slave forever.

Reduction in how long loads take, and how frequently they appear (it SURELY can't be that that hard to render the Normandy in one go?) - I've sat there for 2 or 3 minutes before just to get from the main deck of the Normandy to Shepard's quarters. They had the same problem with Dragon Age for a time, but it got patched out.

Other then that, I'd quite like a few new characters, but then the ability to pick from them and surviving previous crew members.

i beg to differ.

More replayability than Mass Effect 2. I still played the game about 6 times, but now I just can't get back into it for longer than an hour.
I played the first Mass Effect 18 times, and about 10 of those playthroughs was just making the same choices as the same class but it was still amazing.

Also more approaches to levels, the level design in ME2 was quite linear, if I'm an Infiltrator, let me play most of the mission without being spotted and taking sneaky paths.

And more character development. ME1 = Wrex = Excellent character development.
ME2 not so much
i beg to differ. in my generally humble opinion, i thought jack had great character development after her loyalty mission if you did the romance option, and mordin and thane were great characters even though they did not change much. granted i could never get ashley to not shoot wrex, but i think my point still stands.

Paragon/renegade, Bioware has shown to be able to design games based on consequential actions without dumbing it down to a two-dimensional system through Dragon Age. It would also motivate players to do what they actually would do in the situation and not be forced to do whatever gives them the most angel/devil points for some better conversation options.

Too many humans. As you play as a human and have your ship staffed by humans i want no more than two on my team.

I want Wrex back in my party, same with Liara.

I know it's difficult story wise, but Bioware's good at this. I'm sure they can come up with a way to make it happen.

No vehicle sections. Thanks for trying, Bioware, but it's just not working out.

More females from different species. In a universe with such a well defined universe, it shatters the immersion somewhat that we only ever see the males in the intergalactic community (Salarians and Krogans have somewhat of an excuse, but there's none for the Turians or Volus, that I'm aware of).

Fix the ammo system. I didn't think it was terrible, I was fine with it, but I wouldn't mind a hybrid of the systems from both previous games.

That's all I can think of for now.

(pssst, look above my avatar)
I was about to verbally rip your face off for a second there... But you saved yourself by suggesting that peice of crap should handle better. Good man.

Hmm... Just for variety. Maybe a Mellee weapon or two for those gritty situations when you have a zombie alien up in your face. It would just be nice to see Wrex hit something with a battle axe or Tali spinning duel blades.. Mmmmmmmm...

I'd make it exactly like ME1, but

:More streamlined inventory (highlighting multiple things to delete)
:Mako has gas and brake throttles instead of Halo driving
:All difficulties unlocked from the start

And that's it really.

While I am not opposed to the Paragon/Renegade system, I didn't like that it limited my conversation choices later in the game. I haven't played Dragon Age yet, so I'm not familiar with its system, but from what I've heard, it sounds better.

I used to dislike the Mako but now I miss it. I'd also like more character customization like in the first one, although not as overwhelming and ridiculous with the equipment.

A random thing I noticed, but it still made me smile: In ME1, as FemShep you can dance in the club and you actually DANCE, not shuffle awkwardly back and forth like Male Shep. In ME2, they made FemShep dance like the guy and it made me a little sad. If I wanna dance, let me dance!

Also, more sidequests. In ME1 there was enough stuff to get me to level 60. In ME2 I can only get half that. Lame.

First: less "you need 200 renegade points to unlock this action", it's silly, and as yathzee pointed out (and by god, first time I'm quoting him for truth and not to complain about his views): they make moral choices focus on + good or evil points rather than the consequences of them.

Second: better ammo system. Thermal clips would have been fine if they had scaled properly. Like "contains 50 clip points, snipers use 10 per shot, smg 1, pistol 3, etc etc", instead of that awful "contains exactly 1 sniper, 6 pistol, 30 smg or whatever the numbers were...".

Third: More insight into salarians and turians, they're interesting!

Fourth: More customisation on my character than in ME2, but less than in ME1. The skill system of the first game might have been a bit tedious, and had quite a few balance issues, but the system in ME2 was SHIT! I want Shephard to be the way I want him to be, not like they want him. A cross between the two games would be best.

fifth: no more ammo powers, they're silly... really silly. I just get the feeling shephard screams: FLAME ON, and the bullets are ablaze.
I liked having a sniper with armor piercing, smg with shredding, etc etc.
