Horses are for the weak! You have a time machine and feel you want to fight in a medieval battle. What extinct animal would you ride into battle?

Myself? I choose the UtahRaptor [http://images.wikia.com/fossil/images/4/4a/Utahraptor_scale.png]

EXTINCT ANIMAL A TANK IS NOT AN ANIMAL

Brachiosaurus, I choose you!!!!

I would rig that baby up with armour plates and guns and shit and turn her into a veritable walking fortress.

Yeah.

This reminds me of a thread a while back that got locked for no apparent reason. The poster asked 'which historical figure would you have ride which kind of dinosaur to save the world"
It exploded to 3 or 4 pages in like 40 minutes. Then it was locked.

Anyway on topic, Recently in a D&D campaign i acquired a giant spider mount. It is pretty awesome. So I say that.

Think of the intimidation factor. I know it's not extinct but 'never existed' counts too I think.

I believe this is the best answer possible, but I'll let the rest have their say.
I don't like /threads...

Why, a heavily armoured mecha-rhino of course. What a silly question.

Okay they actually have a way to ride those in D&D you sit inside what can best be described as a 'magical glass ball with a chair in it' and lean the way you want the Cube to go while you sit in the ball in the center of the cube.
I had a DM that liked throwing the most bizarre obscure stuff he could find at us.

A Hermit's Cave
Uh, I'll go with either:

Or better yet:

Who needs tanks when you're in a war machine the size of the Empire State Building?!

The only way to top a bear is to have the bear that you're riding be riding something else too.

Those sure are funny looking animals.
Tanks are part animal, they do have horse power after all.
But if it has to be an animal, I'd go with a fell beast from Lord of the rings, with armor plating added around the neck and other extremely vulnerable areas.
