Brutal Legend. If you think offerwise, your wrong. I know it's all opinion, but in this case your opinion is wrong.

All the music in Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, and the music from the Halo games, especially Halo ODST. Also, the Assassins Creed 1 music.
Out of them... definitely Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, cause it got me pumped in an rpg game. There aren't that many rpg's that have music like that.

Call Of Duty 5 Nazi Zombies Perks and Songs.
By perks I mean the songs for the perks.

and one more to add, the intro to Metal Gear Sold 2.

An obvious one from me has to be any of the Final Fantasy games, particularly VII and VIII - I just love Nobuo Uematsu he's a God at what he does.

And as a lot of people have already said, Silent Hill games.

The soundtrack for Devil may Cry 3 was nice. I'm reffering to the orchestral stuff and the main tune that got used throughout. It was especially good in the last fight with Vergil IMHO.

I'm partial to the music from Eve, I tell my friends, it's really good to fall asleep to... but the best piece of gaming Music, is the Gallery Theme from Uru.

For best effect, listen with headphones.

Best 'featured' soundtrack;

1. GTA: San Andreas. The rock channel was awesome - all early 90's metal (Slayer), hard rock (Guns 'n' Roses) and Grunge (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, L7). My favourite musical era I guess :)

2. Frontier: Elite 2. Still my all-time favourite game, and, at the time, a very good classical soundtrack.

Best 'original' soundtrack;

1. Zelda: A Link To The Past on the SNES. Damn, I remember thinking, at the time, that it was the best music and sound quality I'd experienced until then.

2. Pro Evolution Soccer. (Just kidding :) ).

heart, not head.
Though, somehow I really wish A Kiss to Build A Dream On was on the radio on F3. :( I miss it so.

Madden 2004. Not sure why I had so much fun with it's soundtrack, probably because kicking 60 yard field goals while "The Anthem" - Good Charlotte was playing constituted entertainment.

Notable mention: Sonic the Hedgehog (SEGA Genesis)

The Halo games have really really good soundtracks. Say what you will about them, but Halo's music is some of the best I've ever heard in a game.

Spartan:Total Warrior,very underrated game.The soundtrack its like a mix between electronic and orchestral,pretty epic.
Yes, I love that game so much. It was like Dynasty Warriors, only it had an actual story and was actually fun.

Red Dead Revolver has about 70 tracks of awesome Spaghetti Western music that gets stuck in my head quite frequently. Also, Silent Hill: Homecoming, while not a great game, had a fantastic soundtrack. Very memorable stuff.

EDIT: Oh shit, how'd I forget? Diablo and Diablo 2! Those games (especially 2) had great music, especially in when you were in town.
