Most people are nice. Arguments are in essay format instead of "Lol no shut up fag umad?" There's a bit of a hivemind, but not NEARLY as bad as on other websites.

Wait, we have eras? I thought we just picked a topic, talked it to death, then got annoyed when someone innocently attempts to bring it up again later. Is there some sort of detailed chronology I can look up to tell me which Great Eras Of The Escapist Forum I've survived? Eras can be named after notable posters or after significant events. There are lots of gaps in my version so if anyone can help out that would be awesome.
While you generally won't receive direct insults from people here, very often you will find passive-aggressive responses that are essentially just as insulting but phrased in such a way so as to avoid being modspanked.

There are some people here, myself included, that very rarely take anything seriously although you'll find them pretty quickly. Threads tend to get derailed by the same people.
