I'll listen to anything ranging from 1-10 for sure, without wishing to sound up my own arse I think I've got pretty eclectic tastes. :3 As for 11 though I'm not really sure what the hell you're on about, or at least not sure why it would really deserve a distinction from 10. I guess these are some of the heavier/more extreme songs I listen to that you might in some light class as an 11:

Particularly Brain Drill, that shit is just insane. 0_0

That's probably one of my favorite songs from that album. Nice choice!

OT: Honestly, this song, and I mean this song, is the hardest I've gone that I actually enjoyed.

I just like the usual suspects, the likes of Megadeth and Alice and Chains. That kinda thing.

Not sure if bands or skate grinds ....

Well the heaviest I have on my Ipod is hatebreed and since I have no idea what the fuck half of these millions of genre are I am going to say it's not that hardcore.

Although I suspect as you get near 10 and 11, it goes from "look how heavy this music is" to "listen to me hit my guitar with a rock, while I move my left hand round".

I think there is way too much division and semantics in the music world, nu metal ... what the fuck is that? Lets just have rock, metal, heavy metal, "I hate my geetar and can't sing so I bark/growl/scream/all-of-the-above"

Song title made me think of kit-kats. =D

OT: I'd say at least a 10[sup]1/2[/sup]! I love metal! I can listen to some heavy stuff. ^-^ My favorite band falls nicely into rank 10. Gojira! =D

*looks at other posts* [sub]Look at all that deathcore ._.[/sub]

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU

(I don't meet many people who enjoy Strapping Young Lad)

Most of my stuff is solidly between 7 and 9 (Orden Ogan, Judas Priest, Megadeth, old Slayer, old Metallica, Dream Theater), but I have a real love for both Strapping Young Lad (Almost Again, All Hail The New Flesh, Wrong Side, and Skeksis all topping my most played songs on iTunes) and Behemoth... Behemoth is just fucking amazing.
Gotta love Strapping and Behemoth. Not many people I know like them either, which is a shame.
Still, I must admit that I like Devin's solo stuff better than Strapping. Both some of the heaviest stuff you'll ever hear and the most relaxing. Sometimes on the same album. :D

I stick between 6 and 10.
It really doesn't get much more brutal than Lamb of God for me. There are lone songs and a band or two heavier and darker, but I still go back and forth between Manowar, Heaven Shall Burn and Lamb of God.

The depths of human depravity don't interest me when all I wanna do is relax to some music.

Maybe an 8? But the majority of my stuff is lower than that.

Not really into metal, though.

I agreed with you till the last bit.
I think that's a pretty unfair thing to say "I hate my geetar and can't sing so I bark/growl/scream/all-of-the-above", aside from some of those riffs and solos are pretty damn difficult to play, some people honestly enjoy listening to those vocals...and it's difficult to growl or have an even scream. Really difficult.

The fact you don't like the way it sounds or understand the appeal of something, doesn't give you the right to forgo it as a musical taste.

This concept should also be taken as a principle for all that incessant bieber hate. I hate him because he's a cash cow and has an awful fanbase. Otherwise...I don't really care.

I'd say I listen to bands between 9 and 10. Stuff like Behemoth, Between the Buried and Me, Watain..in fact, loads of Black Metal.

You forgot to add a 12 to that list which is exclusive to the band Abruptum. Rumour has it that they cut and tortured one another during the recording of their earlier material.
Seeing as it's a one-man group, I don't see that happening in a hurry. ^_^

That sort of stuff falls into the 'we need attention, let's be weird' category for me.
Initially, it was a band, with 3 members (I think there were 4 members at one stage, too?). And then they were plagued by line-up changes, and then IT left.

While It's nice to occasionally listen to 10 or 11 bands, such as cannibal corpse, I mainly stick to nu metal, heavy metal, classic rock and grunge. Case in point the hardest stuff I listen to on a regular basis are bands like lamb of god, korn, slipknot etc. I guess it all comes down to my mood. Fucking hate most screamo though...

Except it's not, I can scream/growl/bark ... I watched crappy shows like wife swap or something and one family has it's own band like that and they could do it.

It's just an opinion that I have, you can consider it a misinformed opinion by an ignorant person but it is what it is.

I make it to level 10 on the back of Dir en Grey, but it looks like every example at level 11 is either joking or trying way too hard.

Huh, didn't know a chart like existed. My music is primarily and sort of evenly (give or take) split between 7 and 8. Maybe trending toward 7, I'm not entirely sure. Also a lower number, but still significant, level 9. The rest is a selection of 4-6 and random songs from other levels but low number of them (single digits), so not really significant.

The hardest metal I have are the likes of 1349 and Vomitory not more than 4-5 albums in total. I don't know, those might be level 10 but generally I don't listen to them that much.

I usually listen between 7 and 9.

7: Nightwish
8: Ensiferrum
9: Eluveitie

But every now and then I like some 10 like "Chelsea Grin"
