I like the sound of it.
It's one of my three standard usernames.
I used this one mostly on Rome Total War Heavens some years ago.

Butternut is a cool word, I found it also makes a cool name.

"I'm healing a Demoman called Butternut, my day is now complete"
Quote from a random medic in TF2

I hate playing this game. When I joined, I linked it straight away with my facebook. Yeah go ahead, and add me, just email first so I know it's someone from here

My username originated from my Xbox Live gamertag which is also DVS Storm. I got the idea for the name from my friend, who's gamertag also begins with DVS. He got it from Kill Bill movies and it stands for Deathly Viper Squad(actually in the movie it's Deathly Viper Assassination Squad but still). And Storm was just something that sounded cool. So DVS Storm.

What does that have to do with the origin of your username?

My username originated from my YouTube username, TheLastSamurai14. The Last Samurai is still one of my top 10 movies of all time. However, I've had many a case where I've had to abbreviate because of username character limits, and I've just grown more fond of the abbreviated name over time.

It's from my nickname at school-"Taco". My friend Michael was setting up an email, and so was I. On a whim, I chose irtaco. It's an unusual name and usually isn't taken on any other websites. So, I use it for everything.

I wished to have a secret name on the escapist, a name which I had nowhere else, so I thought for a few minutes and this name came to mind...

Caveworm is from my Worms team-back in the day. Caveworm was very apt at using the ninja rope to 'rope knock' other worms to their deaths. TNT expert. Not afraid to use a girder and play dirty. I'd always imagined him like Lee Marvin.

Capitan Smige.
LT Pogee.
Sergeant Caveworm.
Corporal Clegfed.

Like the dirty dozen. But worms. And not a dozen.

it's a spin off from my brother's username flamingsok. (he created it a few years before realizing that flaming was considered something gay. No, he isn't homophobic.)

I randomly found the name when looking for a decent name for my Eve character, it soon became my online alias. My original Escapist name was Ula, which means... nothing, I forget where that came from. ANYWAYS, I was called Andalusa everywhere else except here, so I changed it!

I loved final fantasy Tactics and in the original there was a guy named Rad who joined your group. He was a generic NPC, but on a forum I was signing up on my other general usernames were taken so I tried Rad.. taken, I tried Rad and an anagram of it. The result sounded cool and unique.

When I was a kid I misheard something my brother said (still don't know what he said) and mistook it for Megamabu and I thought since it was quite original no one else would be using it, Since that day I use it pretty much everywhere.

That's not my user name here, but everywhere else I use 42f87d89, it's hexadecimal for 1123581321, which is a part of the Fibonacci sequence.
