I tend to play cloth-wearing healers or magic casters. Pretty much if it heals, I end up playing it. In WoW I played as a Holy Priest, which was exactly the sort of thing I enjoy. For other games where obvious healers aren't as available, I typically end up going for mages.

I like to do a lot of damage in as short a time as possible, but I'm not too fond of magic. In fantasy games I tend to go with high damage melee classes. In games with shooting mechanics (New Vegas, for example) I lean towards sniping.

I generally go for the "rouge" type classes, Using light armour and stuff being good sneak or ranged

like if fallout 3 I don't use heavy weopons or power armour (I always hated power armour)

The wanker who spends all their skillpoints on musical or novelty-skills, and spends more time in social hugs organizing things than questing or griding. Just more my style than grinding, really.

When in a solo thingy, like Monster Hunter... Fast little sword, light armor, run away quick quick when almost dead! =]

Melee powerhouse. If available, I take the heaviest armor, a strong horse, lance, shield, and bastard sword/axe.
Hard-hitting, hard-to-kill, and my shield protects me from cowards with long range weapons.

I tend to prefer the well rounded combat class. Fatansy RPGs, this tends to be melee weapons (usuallybalanced but focusing a bit more on power than speed), F/TPS, ussually an assualt rifle that favors accuracy over power, though sometimes I go the other way around.

I always like to combine, I love bows, knives swords and old timey guns. I love snipers LMG's and the such. But i lvoe to sneak up on people too. I guess, a heavily armed, light armored rouge, with a sword and pistol (dual wield) for when things get up and personal, daggers for backstabbing, and bows for long range.

For this world, I guess... lotsa guns.

A good allrounder damagedealer I guess.

Short range, devastating power kind of solider.

When it comes to RPG's however give me a sword and some healing magic. (Think Cecil from FFIV)

When it comes to flight sims (in space or not) I opt for the manoeuvrable but well armed light fighter.

Night-Elf DPS Swashbuckler riding a Sabertooth Sweet Zombie Rachni Jesus Kraken. On Phobos. And Deimos. At the same time.

In all serious, I like the thief/archer/ninja classes, secondary damage dealers essentially, though I've also been known to dabble in Support/Time/Green magic (whatever you want to call it, but c'mon, green magic FFXII?) with secondary healing.

In shooters I like to load up on explosives, both from a launcher (noob-tubing is fun, get over it) and trap-like versions (*Click* "[Sigh] Fu-").

I have no class. I'm more... rabble, really.

Oh, you mean aside from that? Casters. Or something with copious amounts of Science if that's an option.

Ranged Damage Specialist. So usually a sniper/marksman in shooters or something like a mage in fantasy based games. Basically anything that allows me to deal accurate and decent damage over a large distance.

Generally rogue or stealth, I find it makes the gameplay a bit more interesting, that being said there are some times where I will go all out tank/all out offensive mage.

Rogue, or something to the effect of: having many skills that aren't particularly useful in combat, but useful for other stuff like lockpicking, persuading, computer hacking, etc...

Definitely almost always pick the cleric. I don't like standing back and firing spells, and then being weak in close-combat. But I don't want to be front-lining, then get stuck unable to heal myself either.
I pretty much never play sneaky rogue/thief/ninjas characters.

Well,

I've actually been very conflicted about classes. Fighter in FFXI, Caster in WoW and AION, Healer in LOTRO and tank in WAR.

But I'm really starting to warm up to the whole tanking concept. Couldn't get my head around healing however, mostly because I had the awesome power of not healing morons.

So yeah. I guess I'm your typical tank.

Color Magic in Final Fantasy

White = Healing
Black = Attack
Red = Enhancement
Green = Enfeeblement
Blue = Monster
Gold = Summoning

Ok, I made that last one up. But I think it would fit the pattern.
Even though in the earlier FFs the Red Mages were the beastmasters? They copped out and let everybody do it in later games though (well, 6-8)

I usually go sniper or rogue, or the equivalent for them. I like sneaking around, and long range sneak attacks have saved me on many occassions.
