Well, as a kid I'd had a SNES, I played some Mario and stuff.

But the thing that really got me hooked was Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage. That game is still fun to play even today.

Hi guys, this is my first thread! :D

I'm asking you the question: What game got brought you into gaming? The game that brought me into gaming is probably Halo: Combat Evolved, I effin' loved that game! (and I still do)

so what game is "your" game?
YOUR AVATAR
FRITTATA IS NOT A VERB

on topic, probably crash team racing, I played that game with my mum when I was between the ages of 2 and 5.

Mine was Banjo kazooie/tooie. Still love that game and it holds a special spot in my heart. Also super smash bros on N64, which i still hold to be one of my favorite series ever.

Legend of Zelda on the nes.....20 years.....ago.

Its shit like this that makes you realize how old you are and how much time you've actually wasted.
I hear that. I've got the same story.

The original Zelda on NES wasn't my first game, but it was the one that made me realize that video games were something special and would be a big part of my life for a long time.

Now, 20 years later, was it all worth it? Hell yeah it was! Though it does make me feel old and make me lament the time I spent playing crappy games because I didn't know better.

I had an N64 as a kid but I didn't play it too much, too young to really understand what the fuck I was doing, I didn't really start to get into gaming until I played Halo: CE co-op with a friend. He was coming over 2-3 times a week and we would play the shit out of that game, I can't even count how many times I've finished it.

I was brought into the gaming world by the original Bros

Super Mario Bros for the NES, to be specific.

my first game that got me hooked was a PS1 game call "Heart of Darkness" at the time it was a fun adventure of a kid trying to find his dog, but as i play it now, it has more child deaths that puts mw3 to shame (seriously like snapping his spine, incinerated in a fiery explosion, completely crushed, etc) has a character take a giant huff of pot before blowing it all infront of the kids face, and showing part of his porn collection.

but what made me say, im going to be a gamer for life was Pokemon red, holy shit the hours i poured into that game, the wins, the loses, the hard grind to beat the league, that the gyms where difficult beyond reason. ahh the memories.

Oddly enough, Myst. I know it's kind of odd to start off gaming with a poorly aged game like Myst, but the puzzles and the worlds that I saw were pretty dang imaginative and prompted me to play the sequels when they came. I often say that Super Mario Land 2 on the Game Boy was my first game that I owned (which is true), but it wasn't the game that got me into gaming.

Little Big Adventure 2 was what got me really interested... But there was the few games that came free on Windows 95! The hours and hours I played Doom, and Blake stone!! :p Now all you get are puzzle games!

You know what, I reckon it was Age of Empires. Or perhaps an old side-scroller called Claw. I also played the demo for Diablo at the same time, but not until I had played a bit of AoE.
I love Age of Empires! I still play it, too. Whem my husband and I stuff up, instead of calling for a medic, we shout out: "Monk! I need a monk!"

It being a line from AoE2 and all that...

The Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past, which I saw before I was even old enough to play games.

Why is it every time I see you, I stare at your avatar for at least 5 minutes....

OP: I truly can't remember, I know the game that I spent hours of my time after school on though was Hot wheels Turbo racing, finding all the secret cars and stuff.. boy that was fun XD
But I still can't remember the very first game I played, all I remember is it was a point and click adventure game.

Civ Net at the age of 3. Not kidding. Kinda odd game for someone to be introduced to gaming, at least at that age, but I enjoyed it.

Super Mario Brothers was the first game I played AND the first game I raged at; those cheep cheeps (jumping fish) were the bane of my four-year-old self

Kirby's Dreamland was the first game I complete

Megaman X was the first game I completed more than three times and the first game I did a perfect play-through of (the only one come to think of it)

Mario Bros 3 was the first game I obsessed over

runescape was my first online gaming experience (way back in the old classic version which looked like complete and utter garbage x D)

......

Been gaming since I was four and I still vividly remember the first time I picked up a controller and walked straight into the first goomba (then cried)

It all probably started with Priston Tale. That was the first game i felt genuinely interested in and it was also incidentally my first MMO.
Even though it's a shit game by today's standards, it was awesome back in ye olde days.
