Last time i did an IQ test was when i was in 3rd grade in elementary. And now im 24.
I remember getting a 139 out of 160.

I'ma do another one later, i wanna know if im getting smarter or dumber (im predicting the latter though, and im gonna blame highschool for that)

I usually get around the 120 mark... But IQ tests arent how smart you are, but how well you can do that particular test... You go into a high school exam that is multiple choice, if you know the subject, you will do well, you dont know, you will do badly...

I had my IQ tested twice back when I was 2 & 4 years old, after being diagnosed with Asperger's, and I had a score of 160 both times. It's likely closer to 150 now due to being older, but it's still quite good a good score. :D

93 at age 15, unfortunately I have absolutely no idea what this means, or if it is good or not...

It's probably a whole number of little factors, without having access to a whole shit ton of statistics though we won't actually know.
Indeed, but I think we can safely say that it's people who have a more remarkable score who are more likely to post. IQ measures brainpower in the same way that BMI measures fat though.
I.E. Not at all.

...Quite high.

Ironically, I keep seeing ~120 on this thread. Either the gaming world tends to attract smarter people, or statistics dictate that this many people can't be above the mean ;)

As for what IQ does, I once heard that it is more correlated with how easily you learn than how straight-up smart you are? As in, you can learn new things quickly, but that doesn't mean the level of complexity of the things you learn is as high as the number suggests?

Is it weird to not know? I did good in school (A's and B's) and manage to run my life well so I assume I'm somewhere in the "okay" range.

aren't you legally classed as retarded if you get an IQ score below a certain point? 170 or something?
170 is well above genius level. As a rule 100 is constantly updated to represent the average. 70 and below is considered retarded.

I refuse to take the test. I don't like subscribing to the idea that your IQ determines how important you are in relation to others.

That's just my perspective.

Well mine shifts by about 30 points depending on how much sleep I have had. Of course me like most people here have never taken a real, sit in classroom for 2 hours test.
I do not really care about my number as I still got into the program I wanted to.

At the age of 19 (so my current age) I took the test and apparently it's around 140 (took the test 3 times with different sets to get the average score).

Thing is though. IQ as a "score" doesn't mean A THING.
Why? cause IQ is basically "intelligence compared to age" so if you are a bright little kid you can easily get 170 or even higher. If you are a bright teenager you'd be lucky to get 140. As an adult 120 is also "ok". So if you are 70 years old and you got a 90. That doesn't mean you are dumb/retarded. That just means you are average to your age.

On the other hand if you are 70 years old and you get 180, than HOT DAMN you are smarter than all those kids that get 300IQ!

So yeah. I am average, so are most of you. :)

That is actually not true and just pop culture ;)

I haven't done an IQ test in something like five years, but last time I did I was told it was around 135-140, from memory.

Anyone who calls it an "IQ score" is bullshitting. IQ stands for "intelligence quotient" - it's an arbitrary number (called a quotient) that correlates to how many standard deviations you are from the median of everyone that took the test, at your specific age range.

Like BMI, it's largely a 'best guess' at something that isn't so easy to measure exactly - it really doesn't mean anything, but it's handy for keeping track of early development in kids. Anyone who has taken an IQ test after high school either feels like they have something to prove, or is actually retarded (and they're checking on progress for purely medical reasons.)

Yes, I've taken an 'official' one. Yes, I qualified for Mensa. No, I don't care what the number was. Who names an organization of geniuses after the Latin word for 'table' anyway?

I did one online when I was about 13 or 14 and got 128 or so... Haven't taken an official one, but in general that seems about right.
