Kalum Zei bargained with the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora to exchanged is eyes for the ability to see into the future, he foresaw the Great War in Cyrodiil and left for Skyrim, but ended up trapped in a nordic burial ground near the border and was trapped there for fifty years surviving on stray Skeevers and an alchemical mixture of cobwebs and small non-venomous spiders. His unnatural vision eventually showed him the way to escape, but not before his abilities has taken a massive hit. He eventually made it into skyrim, but while he was trapped he lost all sense of time and minutes sometimes seem like days, and years seem like seconds. He has no grasp on the meaning of mortality, leading many to compare him with the Dovah (Dragonkind in their language). On his way into the border he was captured along with a set of stormcloak rebels and nearly killed.
But then the World Eater, or Alduin, arrived and he was freed in the confusion, due to his blindness he had no idea the true monstrous form of Alduin and attempted a conversation with him. They traded few words but Kalum pledged himself to learning all he could of the dragons, and sought out the Greybeards, quickly learning the dragon language.
Level 67, High Elf, Mage, specializing in destruction, alchemy, and conjuration.

My Breton character was actually born and raised in Cyrodiil, the distant descendant of the hero who arose in the Oblivion Crisis, their lineage was long forgotten when the Aldmeri Dominion claimed credit for banishing Mehrunes Dagon back to his realm. Despite worshipping Talos, he is an ardent supporter of the Empire, wanting to see it return to it's former glory and overthrow the Thalmor oppressors. When he was caught by the Imperials along with Ulfric, he was actually attempting to enter Skyrim, but had lost his way in the passes through the mountains that form the border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim. He has a strong sense of justice, but will rarely show mercy in battle.

Oh, and Level 51, specialising in One-handed Blades, Light Armour, Archery and Restoration magic.

Joshua is a Breton thief from Cyrodil who tried to escape across the border when he stole a large amount of ancient artefacts from the chancelor and other nobility, as well as kicking the high chancellor in the nads during his escape from him and numerous other guards. His aim? To sell it all on the black market.
As he crosed the border into Skyrim, he was detained and found by the guards during the middle of an ambush. The artefacts that were found, combined with the fact he was with the stormcloaks during the ambush just made the Imperials think he was apart of their ranks and decided to execute him for high treason.

Luckily, he was able to escape with the Stormcloaks but...he lost the loot he had gained in the process.

As a person, he's fully prepared to get his hands bloody and to steal whatever the hell he wants. But, that said, he doesn't go after those less fortunate then he is and will normally repay any kindness or debt to anyone who helps or saves him. He isn't much of a talker, but why talk when you can just sneak right by someone? Mostly though, he just does what he wants and goes his own way so....Chaotic Neutral.

In regards to being Dragonborn? Well, he likes the shouts...he's a bit unsure of everything else though. It's all pointing suspiciously towards having to be a hero, and being a hero isn't something he's jumping for joy over...then again, chances are, he won't have a choice.

Cool thread :)

A Breton sword-mage calling himself Arkk, although it's not his real name. Skills are one-handed, enchanting, destruction and alteration. He's essentially the same character I made for Oblivion.

The first Arkk was the Champion of Cyrodiil. After the Oblivion Crisis he returned to High Rock and set up an academy to train a force of sword-mages to protect the civilised lands from evil in all its forms. Two hundred years later, the school is still there.

The Dragonborn (although he doesn't know that's what he is yet) is the son of a prosperous merchant in Dagerfall. He idolises the heroes of Tamriel's past, especially the Champion of Cyrodiil, and he dreams of learning magic and fighting evil. But his authoritarian father wants him to take over the family business, and does his best to crush his son's frivolous ideas. But eventually, at fifteen, the boy runs away from home to join the Sword-Mage Academy founded by his favourite historical figure.

In a moment of panic and supreme arrogance, he tells the door guard at the academy that his name is Arkk. Unamused, the guard slams the door in his face, but he perseveres and eventually he is allowed to train there.

Four years later he and three other operatives are on a mission to hunt down some Daedra-worshippers in the mountains on the border between Cyrodiil and Skyrim. They are ambushed, and only Arkk escapes alive. He wanders in the mountains for several days and gets hopelessly lost, before falling in with the Stormcloaks trying to cross the border. He travels with them until they are caught by Imperial soldiers - and the rest is history.

Oh dear you put your foot in it with that question I have an entire fable dedicated to my Fendl's backstory :p

Don't worry though I'm not going to recite it all here I'll try to be brief it can get long and confusing otherwise.

Name - Fendl [No last name]
Race - Bosmer, Vampire.
Age - Unknown (Vampire after all)

Specialises -

- One Handed and Two Handed Swords, Bows, Sneak and Light Armour with Smithing.

Story

Fendl being a vampire is already used to being hunted by groups such as the Vigilent as is the natural life of anything that requires to feed from humans to survive however with the rise of the Thalmor and the invasion of the Empire he believes a greater threat to his species has risen.

Thalmor who believe themselves superior to man would soon assume themselves superior to all others Khajit, Argonion and even those within their race who were "Different" the vampires and werewolves.

Because of this Fendl has decided to fight the Thalmor and break their hold of power over the world, to achieve this goal he planned to raise a Order of vampires to wage a guerrilla war on the Thalmor in each different nation until they were destroyed. With Skyrim's natural cold climate and the unrest against the Thalmor due to the banning of Talos this seemed the natural staging area for his first engagements with the Thalmor unfortunately unaware of the civil war when entering the border he was captured among Stormcloaks and was assumed a traitor and sent to Helgen.

After the destruction of Helgen and his escape Fendl has continued his private war with the Thalmor to weaken them enough in Skyrim to allow the citizens to rise up and throw the invaders from their lands unfortunately he has yet to find any allies to join him as a Vampire. (Though if a mod allowing the turning of NPC's comes out Lydia might be a possibility)

As of the time between Helgen and the present he has a homebase (Breezehome) set up, has attacked and raided the Thalmor Embassy twice the second time however he only managed to make it to the courtyard as the door was barred he couldn't eliminate his target(Elenwen), sacked a Thalmor fort with the help of some Stormcloack sympathisers and has killed several Justicar patrols releasing as many prisoners as he could.

(Unofficial Kill count - 42-48 Thalmor killed possibly more)

His name is Thor.

He was a god of thunder before being such a ass@$#% that he was cast down to the human world just as the imperials were capturing the stormclocks. He is a huge brute who duel weilds swords and likes hitting stuff. He isn't too bright but he is learing. He is slowly becoming less of a huge idiot/jerk. He likes being the DragonBorn, he takes up the mantle in stride. He was a god, so he loves being adored as the DragonBorn. He belives that all things should belong to him, as he is a god so he steals alot. He is always very blunt and if you call him a lesser man he will get angry and try to punch you. Or kill you.
Ah HA! I knew I wouldnt be the only one playing as Thor :)

Yes I am playing as Thor Odinson, God of Thunder. Though for me its more like one of Odin's tests for him, start out with a fraction of his power and slowly earn it back through charity, good deeds, and saving Skyrim.

I am going for more authentic Thor, "what would he do/fight with/cast? What spells use lightning, wind, rain? What armor would he wear?"

I have a complete set of Steel Plate armor(Helmet and Chest Fine, had run around Skyrim twice before I finally got that helmet.) with multiple boosts. Head enchantment: Magika +20, Chest: Health +20, Gloves: One handed weapons do 13% more damage(had a pair of Dwarven gloves that had 20% but really wanted the full plate set), Boots: Shock damage negated by 20%. Also have an enchanted ring that grants me +30 health, and working on the quest to get the amulet with +30 health magika and stamina. Currently raising funds on getting a new Chest plate to enchant with Destruction skills cost 15% less to cast and Magika regen 75%, and looking high and low for Boots that have a Fortify Stamina +30 or higher so I can get that enchantment and put it on a new pair of Fine Steel Plate boots.

My main skills are: Heavy Armor, Two-handed, One-handed, and Destruction. With Enchanting and lockpicking slowly creeping up. (I forget my perks off hand :p)

Main Weapons: Dwarven mace +15 Shock damage per hit high charge, Elven mace +15 Shock damage per hit high charge, Skyforge Steel Battleaxe +20 Shock damage per hit very high charge.

Main spells and abilites: Sparks, lightning bolt, Chain Lightning(its costly until you can get its cost cut down with a perk but its wicked powerful for tough groups and really does a number on Dragons), Storm Call (Call down the Lightning? Hell Yeah! XD Any Dragon battle or big outdoor fight will start with this), Whirwind Rush(very useful), Elemental Fury(slice through hordes with ease), Slow time(Can take out a group of enemies or One tough boss type in the span of a few seconds)

I havent played in a few weeks(If I dont take stops I'll get lost to it, just like Fallout 3:p) and I just hit level 21 today, with around 49 hours of play time. Have to go back to hour 45 though because somehow the game didnt autosave for like 5 hours even though I did all kinds of things it normally does autosave for. (One of only two minor flaws with Skyrim) I actually hadnt seen many Dragons in that time. I went on a complete city-to-city journey across Skyrim, in a somewhat circular pattern starting and ending in Windhelm, Before the Golden Claw Quest was over so no pesky Dragons would bug me. By the time I did what I had to do in each city and move on(and find the first two words in Storm call :->) and come back prepared I was level 10. That Dragon was no match for me, between the town guards arrows and my lightning it was on the ground quick and a constant stream of Sparks combined with my trusty Dwarven Mace made short work of him.

However when I returned to Sheerpoint to challenge that Dragon(The Dragon priests are so cheap with their infinite Huge fireball staffs) he withstood my Lightning magic pretty well but against my Dwarven Mace and a Ebony Waraxe he was dead before he knew what hit him.

Yesterday not one but Two Dragons ambushed me. No warning, no screaching, not even the sound of their beating wings. The first I was going back to Fort Sungard. I had already killed all the Mages on the outside with a single Storm Call, then left with to Lost Knife to kill the bandit leader. When I came out I ran full sprint back to Sungard, I had just made it to the arch-way to the court-yard when I ran out of stamina. So i walked slowly in suspecting nothing and I see a big black shadow on the ground "Thats not right..." I look up and a big green Dragon lands on top of the castle battlements and roars right at me. Oh you best belive I went "Holy S-!" I paused, kitted up, buffed up and blasted the shit out of him with my lightning(had a steady steam of potions and fortify magika regen). When he landed I put a poison on my Battleaxe that makes the target 50% weaker against magic, and my Axe delivers 15 points of shock damage ;) in short Mincemeat.

The second came after me at none other than the College of Winterhold. I had heard that happen but thought it was a fluke. Apparently not, they'll strike when you think your most comfortable. I was running around waiting for a vendor to wake up when I go out side to the main front courtyard everything seems normal then a deafing screech. I look up, down, everywhere and I cant see him or hear him. *CRASH* Lands right next me with my back turned, I shot my huge chain lightning and lightning bolt and he shot Fire. My After a couple Chain's my magic dried up. I popped a magic potion and fired Chain one more time. Funny thing: I accedentially unequipped my Lightning bolt spell so I was unarmed in my right hand. Not realising this I tried and *Ping* My metal fist Punched the Dragon right in the chops, good thing I took the Fist of Steel Perk. I was worried at first but the Dragon seemed dazed by the blow even at 75% health, he shook his head and staggered. That gave me time to whip out my Skyforge Battleaxe and in a couple powerful swipes he near death. I got around him and delivered another powerful swing, this time teating me to a kill movie wherein I chopped off the Dragons head.

Even at my current level I can kick just about anythings ass in Skyrim, Single-handidly, with all the buffs, enchantments and weapons I already have. Once I get the funds together he'll have a ton more buffs on top of that :D

Oops kinda got carried away their sorry :p If anyone knows about any Boots that have +30 or above stamina please give me a shout.

A Khajiit warlord who made his way to Skyrim in order to satisfy his great love of ancient magical and daedric artifacts, and also to add every feared or legendary creature he finds to his list of slain foes. He was most disappointed at how little effect Skyrims Moon sugar and Skooma have on him.

My character is Lokar. He is the Nord King of Thieves. He was caught in Skyrim after fleeing because he was spotted trying to steal a powerful mage's soul tomato. Before he was sentenced, the mage used a curse that removed most of his abilities and strengths.

Right now he is level 10, his levels from 2 to 9 were all gained through pickpocketing.

Depending on your level, you can randomly find boots that have up to +70 stamina, so the only real advice is to get out there and get looting!

Well, either that or you can buff-up your enchanting skill to make some of your own; this also has the added bonus of being able to call them the "Boots of Thor" or something that makes them sound more personal.

My character:
Name: Bane
Alignment: Neutral. But hates the Stormcloaks.
Race: Lycanic Nord
Class: Assassin
Level: 17
Skills: My top 5 are One Handed-52 Archery-44 Light Armor-43 Sneak-35 Destruction & Smithing-35

Born in Skyrim, Bane has a knack for fighting in the cold. He is a member of the Blades, the Harbinger of the Companions, and the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood. His loyal companion Aela guides him on his journey to avenge his family. They were slaughtered by a band of Nord bandits while the Stormcloaks stood idly by. He was only 10 years old. He exacts his revenge by murdering the unjust and the ungrateful.

And in his spare time he makes jewelry.

A Nord (just picture Leonidas without the ponytail thing) born to two Nords from Bruma who helped rebuild Kvatch. Born hearing the tale of the green haired savior of Kvatch who was also a Nord, fell in love with adventuring and fighting and serving the people of the Empire, just as his idol had done.

He joined up with the Imperial army right before the Thalmor attack, and fought in the battle that led to the fall of the city. With a refusal to accept defeat and viewing the emperor as a coward who chose to save himself, he got left the army that he so loved and went back to Kvatch, only to find that his family and many of his friends from childhood had been killed by Imperial soldiers during the refusal to accept the new Thalmor law.

Joining up with different people and races from neighboring cities, he tattooed the mark of the Hero on his face (took advantage of the face paint and did the green scar thing) along with others and took up a guerrilla campaign against Imperial and Thalmor troops for a few years. During an attempt to take back Bruma, they were outmatched by different Thalmor spell casters and they had no way to defend themselves. He received scars on his face during this attack, and his small band of rebels that were left disbanded to go back to their families.

Hearing of the uprising by Stormcloaks back in Skyrim, he got caught up on his magic powers and decided to meet up with a small band of rebels to resume the fight in Skyrim, unaware that Ulfric was among them (Now that I know about the Dossier, I assumed he planned to kill me).

Now that I've gotten far into the game, I like to think that my character who now knows about Ulfrics betrayal and feels concerned about tearing Skyrim away from the Empire, plans to march into Windhelm one of these days and shout him to death just like he did to the young King.

Well by surely shattering the lore, he is in fact the same character from Oblivion. Being a Bosmer he has long life, and as you can imagine I had to mentally change conversations in Skyrim in my head lol. After helping defeat Mehrunes Dagon set about helping keep the Empire together. Preferring to avoid the spotlight, he had learned how to disguise himself and work from behind the scenes to avoid recognition for who he was. Learning this would become more beneficial than he'd know, as during and after the war with the Thalmor the Blades were hunted. He helped fight as long as possible, but once the Concord was signed, hid himself completely. Fearing the Empire might even turn on him to preserve peace, he went so far as to make it appear he had died. With the Thalmor getting too close, he fled to Skyrim where he was arrested crossing the border, and fearing he would be found by the Thalmor, or even betrayed by the Empire, kept silent about who he was even until his near execution. Unknown to him until the events of Skyrim, the gods had chosen to pass on the soul of a dragon to him after Martin merged with Akatosh. It's actually much more in depth, but there is hardly enough room for that haha

The only character who I put any serious thought into the origin of is my Nord, a warrior (now also a Werewolf) who travels across Tamriel looking for chances to spill Imperial blood for past wrongs and was captured attempting to 'assassinate' general Tullius.

Ive been pouring over every know reference and this is my best option I suppose. Just wait and hope and pray to Talos for it. Their are also no unique named or quest reward armor or items that really build up stamina so I just have to wait for a random one. Last one I had where Steel Cuffed Boots of Stamina, I accedentially sold them at Warmaidens, walked out realized my mistake and went back in and the item was gone, vanished. *Groan* Havent seen anything else like it since.

Im not planning on enchanting much more. New Boots and Chest and Im good for awhile. My Fine Steel plate is almost as good as Ebony armor, and much more fashionable:p, I might go through the rest of the game with it. My weapons as well with the enchantments that are already stacked on them are extremely devastating.

I usually create the characters and then let my action retroactively shape their origin.

Romulus - Imperial male, warrior, made to look like a combination of Wolverine and Clint Eastwood as Josey Wales. He was a veteran of the great war and a former legionnaire. A Talos Worshiper. Was captured at the wrong place at the wrong time. Found his amulet and thought he was a Stormcloak. Actually ended up fighting for the Empire though.

Iszara - Redguard female, thief/rogue, would be beautiful if not for a hard life with a broken nose, weathered face and chaffed lips. Refugee from Hammerfell. Lesbian. Lost her brother in the fighting so as a strong bond for Erik (the Slayer) who reminds her of him. Had been stealing horses with Lokir hence her ties to Rorikstead.

Kardryn, my latest character haven't done much with him yet. Altmer mage. Massive guy full muscles, shaved head, stubble and a missing an eye. Veteran of the great war on the Thalmor side. Came back home but felt out of place in normal society due to his brutal nature. Decided to travel, crack skulls and learn magic. Mistaken for a Stormcloak because he returned (magic) fire during the ambush out of habit. Hates Imperials probably will join storm cloaks.

Look up "Dragon Breaks".

Everything your character has done is canon. Though it probably didn't technically happen.

Seriously, look it up. Hell, here you go:

http://fallingawkwardly.wordpress.com/2010/08/29/the-metaphysics-of-morrowind-part-1/

Me, I don't know my character's back story. Maybe he's the reincarnation of his namesake in a different universe. Ashnard (I'll love anyone that gets the reference).

And eventually, because of mods, he'll probably get his hands on the Master Sword, the One Ring, Keyblades, etc... and because of CHIM, it'll all be canon.

I fucking love the Elder Scrolls universe :D
