I gotta say, I'm pretty curious as to what the hell you're talking about bro
Well essentially I made a forum topic describing how I felt when the game Mass Effect 2 revealed Canada had been annexed by the States. Now while authors and such describe similar events happening to other nations and such all the time, even to Canada. This has never bugged me before, I have played a lot of Fallout and nothing ever good happened to Canada there. For reasons I cannot fathom it "really" hurt when it came from Mass Effect. I expressed this and I was torn down, ridiculed, and outright insulted en-masses. Now while like anything fictitious I got over it quite easily, it was peoples reactions that still befuddle and hurt me to this day.

What say you?
That's interesting - what about that particular "future history" did you find annoying, vs. say, Fallout? Or is it more a gut reaction type thing?
I guess I am really lying only to myself when I say that I do not know but it seams I cannot formulate a statement explaining why it bugged me so much without invoking severe wrath from anybody I talk to.
Haha, go for it - I don't think any reasonable person would get angry at you for explaining why something rubbed you the wrong way.

Neverwinter Nights 2:
A short stream of consciousness: Ok, so this one human I found in a den of evil orcs who doesn't seem to know why I'm here is clearly a villain delivering orders to the orcs. Wait, why are my only dialogue options designed to feed him enough information to trick me into thinking he's the messenger I've been sent to find? Why is there no option to second guess why he's in the middle of an orc stronghold and yet clearly not restrained? Right, so now my only dialogue option is to let him go. So now the villain is going to know I'm onto his evil plan and possibly compromise the real messenger. OH NO! THE MAN IN THE ORC STRONGHOLD WAS A BAD GUY! WHAT A TWEEST!

FFX
"Don't tell anyone you're from Zanarkand."
(5 minutes later)
"Star player of the Zanarkand Abes!"

Legendary
When I heard the Wilhelm scream, I turned the game and went to do something else for a few minutes. When I heard the main bad guy use the phrase "Destroy the interlopers!", I took it out of my machine and returned it.

The absolute technical failure that is Civilization V, but that's less making me angry and a lot more making me disappointed. That said, I'd still punch the devs or the people who forced them (if any) to put out a release that's less polished than the alpha stage of most games.

Witcher 2 has made me more pissed off than any other game has in literally all the ones I've played through. The shitty controls and lack of responsiveness from Geralt were just infuriatingly awful, honestly, it was a whole other level of angry that no other game ever approached.

Due to a number of circumstances that shuffled around my Live gamertag between a few systems, I lost a lot of achievements in Oblivion. I put my fist through the wall.

Try the latest patch - they tightened up the control aspect a lot. I'd have to agree with you about Witcher 2 having some massively frustrating moments though - I'm personally enjoying the crap out of it, but the game isn't exactly forgiving haha.

Soldier of Fortune.

There was this one mission, I was somewhere in what was once known as Yugoslavia. I rush into a room full of serbian soldiers and shot them all dead.

Except for one.

One of them actually survived because I hit his gun and sent it flying from his hands, leaving him standing there alone and unarmed, cowering, saying "dont shot!".

So I dont shot. I figure the guy is no threat anymore, I do not need to kill him.
And then, suddenly, he reaches in his pocket and flings something at my feet.

A grenade.

I quickly run out of the room, and then come charging back in after the grenade explodes, and empty my clip at the guy.

That event just made me so angry. Not just that the serb tried to kill me, but that the game designers would actually put that in the game. I really WANTED to let the guy live. A first person shooter where you DO NOT NEED to kill everyone would have been something different, something new. But NO. They had to make it so that you MUST kill everyone, even unarmed people. Just in case they try something stupid.

It just made me so very angry.

Dawn of War, Chaos Rising.
I read that for not going corrupt, there'd be some awesome Pure-only loot that'd make it worth it.
...
Across 3 playthroughs, I've found a grand total of 4. And in the end they weren't even that great! D:
I felt cheated for having been extra careful not to get corrupt.

I got pretty fed up with the save system in Mirror's Edge. I got stuck on a level where I was trying to do a non-shooting runthrough, but one particular segment was overly difficult without pulling out your gun. I did it over and over and gave up and went to bed only to discover that not only did I have to still replay that segment I had to do the ENTIRE level over again from the start, not just from the checkpoint.

Also the first Force unleashed had bizarre controls. Stuff like pulling down the star destroyer was just an excercise in frustration. But then coming back to it the next day I pretty much did it first try... I still don't know what the difference was between tries though.

What moment in your gaming history has a game....any game made you so mad that you wanted to scream...

A level that you couldnt get past...a broken mechanic...a disappointing story twist...or your system crashing

What gaming moment made you boil over and lose your cool?
The ending of the Coop Campaign in Splinter Cell Conviction. I am still not done raging.
And two of the endings of Hunted, The Demon's Forge. Still boiling with rage.

While Hunted at least made some sense, The SC Conviction COOP Campaign ending was just utter garbage. Urk.

Fable 2 - Meeting Reaver. He has to be the most unlikable character in the game. For a series which promotes the idea of moral choices and consequences it seems pretty stupid to have a karma hudini who just seems to go out his way to be a dick. Seriously why can't I kill him after the game? He's just a big a douche then as he is when you meet him and you don't need him anymore anyway (not that he helped willingly, the boss appears once you meet him anyway).

Hearing that he would make a comeback for Fable l3 was enough to put me off it. If theres even a hint that he's in Fable Journay's I won't touch that either.

Riddick: Dark Athena - I really liked the beginning on the space ship. After 30min of the sub standard FPS gameplay on the planet surface I traded in the game.

Also, Ghosts n Goblins when you finish and find out you arent done but get to play through the whole thing again. But that actually made me laugh.

The stealth in Metro 2033 was infuriating. It wasn't completely broken, but it was fairly shoddy.
I thought so to until I realised that it's all based on the lights on the side of the watch. You're green, you're good, yellow, be careful, red, you just pained a target on your backside and are shouting obsenities about thier mothers.

OT: AVP has made me rage beyond belief before, like, my blood pressure went up considerably. As in, I felt ten times better when I put the controller down to go get some cheese. I was so mad, it hurt me.

Trying to get the good ending in Metro:2033. Screw up once and the god-awful autosave "feature" leaves you having to replay the entire game.

Edit: also Fallout BOS's attempts at humor.
Really? I never noticed that before, I always screwed up atleast once or twice on most of my runs, and I became Enlightened every time after my first.

I played the Black Ops free weekend and the constant cheap deaths were pretty damn infuriating. Everybody and their damn random grenades can go right to hell.
This is why I don't play multiplayer shooters anymore. Grenades are the bane of my existence in these games. Even with a clean headshot at 200m opfor seem to be able to land a grenade on my bootlaces every time.
