Quantity is a quality of it's own:Toaster Hunter said:Imperial Guard. The horrors of the galaxy are shut down by guys with T-shirts and flashlights.
Holy crap I just read the backstory for them with this playing(last 3 min or so)Triangulon said:I have always been a staunch supporter of the Iron Warriors. Great backstory and a good niche too. Stuck with them through thick and thin. I could even paint them! I also liked the fact that they had a legitimate reason for loosing it and falling to chaos. I also made a kick ass vindicator/leman russ hybrid which suited them down to the ground.
Iron within. Iron without!
What if it's a mix of 1 and 2, these are the scouting parties looking for somewhere to run to?Iwata said:And then of course there are the two theories, each worse than the last:Fenra said:Back when I started the tabletop game it was space wolves all the way, loved thier look and the fact that they opperated almost indipendantly from the rest of the imperium, functioning as packs in a very tribal way, just loved thier backstory.
Ever since DoW2 tho I've been drawn to the tyranids mainly because the idea of them fascinates me, consuming worlds for some unknown purpose, adding the dna and resources to thier own constantly evolving, they might not be as in depth history or personality wise as the rest of the 40k universe but like I said, just fascinating to me. not to mention 40 foot aliens with blade sharp claws kick ass![]()
Theory 1- The three Hive Fleets that wrecked everyone's shit so far and have only been beaten back at great cost are just little tiny tendrils of a much-greater force to follow and nomnom everyone, or;
Theory 2- The sudden emergence of the Tyranids en masse means that, like wild animals in a forest fire, they are actually running away from something...
Take your pick. We're all fucked either way.
OK... I'm gonna just go ahead and call you on this bullshit... so here we go:-Undead Dragon King said:I'm pretty sure that the 'Nids Hivemind is actually the 4th C'Tan- The Outsider.
So yeah, between the Void Dragon (all priase to the Omnissiah!) about to wake up on Mars and and the Outider leading his waves of organic killing machines, the 40K galaxy is pretty much screwed.
Bullshit, you say? I will simply refer you to post 265 on this thread. I won't bother to copy it all down here.NyteRaven said:OK... I'm gonna just go ahead and call you on this bullshit... so here we go:-
1. the tyranids have a little pattern emerging, they're doing they're damnedest to AVOID any worlds with a necron tomb sat on it.
2. The Outsider hates ALL organic life, he was the only c'tan to desire the annihilation of ALL life rather than just SENTIENT life.
3. and more importantly: the Outsider is awake and active, he was probably the 1st to awaken to be honest, he wiped an eldar fleet out, single handed, leaving a single survivor. That appears in either the Eldar or Necron codex mate.
well theres a simple way to derail that the C'tan cannot interact with the warp and the tyranids are controlled by a large hive mind that causes a shadow in the warp due to its size not its absence. and the c'tan dont care about killing everything they just want some cattle to herdUndead Dragon King said:Bullshit, you say? That was going to be point number 4, but I had a severe attack of 'oh shit, I can't be arsed to type any more'Spacewolf said:well theres a simple way to derail that the C'tan cannot interact with the warp and the tyranids are controlled by a large hive mind that causes a shadow in the warp due to its size not its absence. and the c'tan dont care about killing everything they just want some cattle to herd
