I'll admit I barely watch anime but, from the few themes I've heard, they can't hold a candle to some Western intros.

I've never been an anime fan but a couple summers ago I plowed through Eureka 7. Part of what actually allowed me to watch that show without feeling dizzy (anime does that to me) was the AWESOME theme songs. Not too ear-wormy, not too cheesy, just the right amount of rock & roll sounds. Pretty darned good.

There aer several great ones, too many to choose one, but I think I'd say the Gundam 00 Opening theme "Daybreak's Bell" by L'arc~en~ciel is one of the better ones. Of course, this could just be due to the fact that I'm a huge L'arc~en~ciel fan, and that song isn't one of their best by a big margin.

So Memorable. Also I don't any series even comes close to Beebop in terms of lacking all that usual anime bullshit that turns me nad most people off. Great Sci-Fi show in it's own right, nevermind standing head and shoulders above almost any other anime.
