K-on, seriously watch it, and never ever watch Highschool of the dead, just an excuse to show tits, panties and sniping making a girl climax...seriously the artist was making hentai before this, and it shows =/
To be fair, the action scenes are pretty well done.

OT: Gurren Lagann is meant to be really good.

I can recommend Berserk, Welcome to the NHK, His and Her circumstances, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. All but SZS have at least one point where I grabbed my head and wanted to snap my neck.

Gurren Lagann oh dear gods watch Gurren Lagann.

Its my favourite anime. Its literally made from Crowning Moments of Awesome!
I've never said this at The Escapist forums, but:
This. Just this. Didn't even have to look at the other posts since the first one got it dead-on.
Gurren Lagann is plane awesome.

Its hard for me to say what you should see next considering I haven't seen most of these shows so instead I'll tell you what show you shouldn't see next on account of their probably being something better on your list. That show would be Moon Phase.

Moon Phase is well worth watching but it shouldn't be a high priority. There's nothing particularly special about it and it becomes dreadful after episode 17 at which point it loses all sense of direction of meanders meaninglessly. Also, you should know that the first two episodes are very boring; they set up the rest of the show competently but have little worth in their own right. I don't mean to bad mouth the show so much, as I said, I like it- episodes 3 through 17 at least.

Edit: Oh, I will also say that there's no way you should put off seeing Gurren Lagann for long. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes but all this GL fandom your seeing is actually warranted. I've never seen a show succeed so well at being both great dumb fun and a worth-while story at the same time.

Definitely Sayonara Zetsubuo Sensei.

I thought it was hilariousness in the unique way it destroyed melodrama and contrasted a suicidal (aledgedly - "What if I had Died!?") teacher with his eternally optimistic student.

You will have to watch it to know if it's for you though I guess, but I do recommend it on the basis of its uniqueness and humour.

Clannad if you want a very good romance/comedy/drama

K-ON! if you want something cute, funny, and innocent with some good music but little-to-no plot.

High School of the Dead for epic titty action.

Gurren Laggan for epic mech fights and all around awesomeness.

Cromartie High School if you want something hillariously crazy.

And Welcome to the NHK if you want a good comedy / drama

Those are the ones I've seen.

Well, what are you in the mood for? If you want something a bit more "adult"/"mature" with a great storyline, I'd vote Berserk. It's one of my favorite anime and manga, so this one gets my overall vote as well. If you're in the mood for something ridiculously, awesomely over-the-top, give Gurren Lagann a go. For a cynical comedy, go for Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei. And, of all the slice-of-life things you've got, I'd vote for Clannad. Really, I'd say it's all in what you feel like watching at the moment.
Well, I just finished School Rumble, and am finishing up Ouran High School, so I feel like taking a break from a school setting (for now anyway). I guess I'll go with Berserk, then Gurren Lagaan, then Clannad.

Oh yeah, if anyone knows where I could find the episodes of Haruhi Suzumiya in chronological (aka "Haruhi's") order, let me know.
Here's all 28 episodes of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya [http://justdubs.net/list/series/153].
WOOOOO! Thanks a LOT!

High School of the Dead was pretty good, although I hate that they only did twelve episodes. Berserk was also good, but didn't complete the story, since the manga is ongoing.

Clannad was pretty good. K-On! wasn't bad for a casual watch.

Also Haruhi's order should be up on the wikipedia page I think. At the end of every episode, it tells you the next episode number according to the order of occurance. I'm not sure what the order is, so I can't tell you.

A lot of it depends on what you're into. If you like stuff like Berserk, I recommend Claymore as well. I also recommend Golden Boy since it's an older one and pretty funny. Black Lagoon is pretty good too.

Love Hina is pretty awesome if your willing to watch the same friggin guy trips into girls tits scene over and over again xD..but the romance is honestly very sweet, and its a pretty damn funny show.

Gurren Lagann. Only in that show could <url=http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1419/867028773_5b351f8370.jpg>this turn into <url=http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4718/1188841826826ce4.png>this. Feel the raw emotion!

You must watch Clannad and Clannad After Story. Of all the movies, TV shows, and anime I've seen, it is by far the most touching. You will cry, and you will cry lots, just don't fight it.

EDIT: And also, despite what everyone else is saying, Clannad is not depressing, the message of the show is an extremely happy and heart-warming, although it does have it's very, very sad parts.

Definitely, Excel Saga. That is one of the funniest animes you'll see in a long time. If you do watch it until the end, make sure you watch the un-edited version of the last episode.
