Fallout 3, the shear size if the world to explore was quite mind boggling

Definitely Oblivion. The amount of time I logged on it when it was first released was ungodly, and now that I decided to re-install it and all the content feels new again....my god...

Probably Dragon Age if you don't count multiplayer, I love the characters and the story, I have put a far amount of time into Fallout 3 but after completing all the quests I didn't see the point in wondering around anymore.

Pokemon Red.
I got the game when I was around 6, and never really stopped playing it entirely.

Suprisingly, Half-Life 2. I replayed it about 45 times (at the time it came out I was a bit of a loser :p) so I would say I put at least 150-200 hours into it, and that's not counting however long I spent in the Deathmatch (maybe 30 or 40 hours)... Yes I'm serious, I memorized every single word every single character said, and to this day I can still recite all the scenes from memory just because its been imprinted onto my brain from how many times I played through the bloody thing. I did speed-runs learning every nook and cranny and how to bypass certain areas with grenade and gravity-jumping... Ask me something obscure about Half-Life and I'll give you an in-depth answer from all the stuff I learned back when I actually cared. I still love the Half-Life series but I have my own life now, not just a half life (badum-tish) and I kinda left my nerdyness behind me as I grew up.

Then probably Oblivion in second place... It was around the same time of my life and it was my very first real RPG game, so as you can imagine it impressed me a lot.. I put about 100 hours into the game. These days I don't even think its that good.

At this point I rarely put too many hours into a game before moving on to the next one, and don't find (or want) nearly as much time to game. I just see it as one of my hobbies now but it used to be my life >_<

If we skip MMOs (Ultima Online would be first and EVE online second), then it's either VGA Planets or Space empires IV with Steel Panthers close behind. If you drop multiplayer games, then it would be Civilization (either 1 or 4).

Oh I just remembered another one... Around the same time I was playing Mafia, which I loved and also played through about 30 times.

FF7 clocked in at 100+ hours
If there was a way to count hours Guitar Hero/Rock band it would be a big number I guess.

That's a tough one. It's either Team Fortress 2(243.3 hours), Day of Defeat Source(180.1 hours plus the hours I have before Steam started recording it.), and Garry's Mod(132.2 hours plus all the hours I have before Steam started keeping track.

It must be games from before I got internet so warcraft 2 and final fantasy 7. Not sure which one I've played the most. Red Alert 2 is a close third. :D

Aside from WoW

Civ 1 on the Amiga days weeks or months I can't remember but it was forever.

or DAOC probably 80+ days

WoW is over 245 days with a year break in the middle to try Turbine's contributions to the genre

City of Heroes. Though, by 'Except WoW' I'll assume you mean all MMOs despite the fact that there are people who wouldn't touch that particular one unless they were paid (me).

So, for non-MMOs, Baldur's Gate 2 takes the cake, with Left 4 Dead being the runner up.
