That was not my intention, and if I came across that way, I apologize. I've known some people who like the Syd-era, yet hate the guts out of everything that came after. If you hate their entire output, that's fine. The whole "I don't like prog" thing gives me a knee-jerk reaction every time I hear it and it's something that I really, really need to get over.MelasZepheos said:...
And then this happens.
Every single time I say I don't like Pink Floyd someone tries to prove me wrong.

I agree they're overrated, but, honestly, they're not that limited. Does "Highway To Hell" sound anything like "Big Balls"?Xartyve2 said:I think that said repackaging and relabeling is grievous enough an error for me to ignore how good that one song is.ravenshrike said:Don't get me wrong, it's a really fucking awesome song, which is why they can get away with it. But one song does not the greatest rock band of all time make.
Going into this thread I was thinking no one was going to mention Coheed, but lo and behold it's right there.Mr Fixit said:I'm gonna throw out an oddball and say Coheed & Cambria. I love Pink Floyd & Zeppelin & Black Sabbath & Maiden & all thosde other fucking awesome bands. In fact I always say Pink FLoyd is my favorite band ever, but when I listen to Coheed & Cambria I hear all those other bands rolled up into one & it works. I couldn't stand them the first time I heard one of their songs, but after I listened to a couple of albums because a friend was listening to them I heard all the stuff I loved from those other bands & they did it so well.
