If not outright crying, definitely manly tears. Toy Story isn't just about living toys, but synonymous with life, growing up, moving on and handing the reins to the future generations. Thus seeing the end immediately struck a chord with everyone, especially the older folk.

Well...maybe I got a little misty eyed but, that was about it. Still it did strike a cord since I remember being a kid watching the first movie. Funny how time fly's just like that and then suddenly I wake up to find myself going to College.

Almost, man. AL-MOST. It was really nice, especially being exactly the same age as Andy, my being named "Andrew", and also having to move into college exactly like Andy. It was like I got a telegram from the Uncanny Valley (Yes, the send telegrams. They'll send you a message via carrier pigeon if you ask. Whatever makes things seem a little bit more strange, but understandably realistic at the same time.)

I felt tears coming out. But I'm an insensitive soul, and I held them back.

I did, it was a very cathartic ending.
I wasn't like face in the pillow bawling but there were definitely some tears.

I didn't cry but I had to contain myself real hard, seriously, I've never had to do such an effort to not sob like a kid...fantastic movie.

I went to the movie with five burly scary-looking dudes from work, and by the end, all six of us were crying like goddamn babies. XD

And then I went home and found my last remaining stuffed animal and hugged him. Just in case.

Nearly shed a couple of tears at the incinerator moment, but I held it back. Like a man.

Was there something I missed cause all I did when I saw this thread title was scoffing...loudly.
I honestly can't see why people thought it was so great, I thought it was good at best but not something one would cry over, and that whole almost dying part which apperantly has never happened in movies before....oh wait, yes it has! In almost every adventure/action movie there's this one bit where everyone thinks the hero is dead and everyone gets sad then lo and behold he was'nt and when this happened in Toy Story 3 it didn't exacly shock me, to be honest I was starting to wait for it!

You have to remember that the trilogy is over 10 years old . Quite a few people (myself included ) grew up with this stuff , so we're already emotionally attached to the characters.
I understand What you mean and I myself did aswell see the first movie when I was young but mabye im being to harsh here, again I understand why one would cry, it is sad at the end but I have a very short attention span and when I haven't seen a sequel for more then 10 years one tends to loose interest. Once more before I get flamed for being an emotioless twat, I understand where your'e coming from but im not the type of person who would cry over a movie.
So we understand eachother . Wonderful . This is quite honestly the most civil disagreement I've ever had. o.o"
Agreed!

I almost cried, but my blabbermouth of a little sister was there with me to so I had to hold it in. It was a pretty hard fight at the point (Spoiler)where Andy is handing all his toys over to the little girl and plays with them one last time. (Spoiler)

I didn't. It was sad but I didn't drop a single tear. I only cried watching the final episode of LOST. Nothing can come even close to being that sad. And I heard that everyone cried watching Toy Story 3 so I expected something extremely sad. Maybe I expected too much that's why it turned out not to be that sad after all.

I did as an 18 year old male, and it was weird. I've never even been close, and I always just figured I was a tad too cynical or jaded for a movie to affect me that much.

Guess I was wrong.

After all the hype and build up I heard from everyone, my fiance and I were expected one of the toys to get melted down or something terrible. So when that didn't happen, no neither of us cried.
