How is that stereotypical PC hater? I don't hate PC gamers, just the elitist and high-and-mighty ones. Everything I mentioned is from posts that I see all the time, I didn't generalize all PC gamers like that, and why the hell do you say console-KIDDIE? I could call someone PC kiddie and it wouldn't make sense so I don't understand why you would say that

And no offense but you just proved my point by saying that PC controls are better for everything. That is just your opinion, it's not fact, yet so many PC gamers always make that stupid statement over and over again like if it is a fact.
But it is fact.... I don't see how you can possibly dispute that fact...]

Probably for the same reason that console gamers get so much hate; some bizarre notion of brand loyalty, familiarity with what one uses the most, and the perception that the gamers from the other faction are "elitist assholes".

If PC Gamers vs Console Gamers were a summer blockbuster, this would be the part where one of them says "We're not so different, you and I."

Then they team up to fight tabletop pen & paper gamers.

Yanno I can see it now, and there would be a tragic ending, where the video-gamers are massacred by the table-top gamers in an ambush that the traitorous Bioware fanboys led them into...

It makes you a hybrid, not an ambassador.

I have a similar issue; I have windows installed on my Macbook Pro (and i use it for games etc.) but instead of it "being the best of both worlds" and putting me in with PC 'clanboys' and Mac douches, I am instead cast out by both sides... for even trying to distill the purity of each mal-aligned position.
Dammit, I can't seem to escape being a hybrid. First my own nationality and now my gaming preferences. Curse the hybridism.

Actually both stereotypes are completely accurate. Your problem here is that there's not actually anything WRONG with being elitist.

Of course it wouldn't make sense, kiddies don't play PC games, they play console games.

And no offense but you just proved my point by saying that PC controls are better for everything. That is just your opinion, it's not fact, yet so many PC gamers always make that stupid statement over and over again like if it is a fact.
It IS fact. PCs give you a choice of any control scheme you want. That is an indisputable, objective advantage over consoles.

I can plug any controller I want into a PC, how is that not better?

The cold, mechanical keyboard is no match for the soft, loving embrace of a controller. Just grabbing those two potruding, curved handles, pressing it close to my abdomen, and giddily losing all control button-mashing my way to victory until I'm laying there, exhausted but proud of my handiwork, reflecting on the deed that has been done...

...there is no other comparable satisfaction.

Console gamers are jealous. That's why they keep insisting that PC games shouldn't have features that console games don't (see MW2). If they can't have those features, then nobody can.

They could just buy gaming PCs themselves, but of course they believe that the price tag for a gaming PC starts at $1000 because they don't have a clue about PCs.
Pretty much this, console users seem to think that buying a new gaming PC will cost them more than a new console, well, I will admit that it will cost a bit more, but not much compared to consoles at release prices, as long as you build your own. (And no, building a PC is not hard, just make sure that you do a little reading before you do it, you'll find everything you need to know online, it's not hard). And if you get into the modding scene, you'll have endless hours of fun.

It's also worth noting that even if you build your own gaming PC, it's still a pc so you can do LOADS more with it than a console. For me for example, I'm a programming student, so it's what I work and play on, there's also all the 3D moddeling software, photoshop / gimp, music making software, all that fun stuff.

Whys is there so much hate on console gamers from PC gamers?

Evidence: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.156962

Works both ways around. People just seem to have this hate for people with something different to them.

Most console gamers don't care about mod tools. Hell, most PC gamers don't care about them, either.

This forum is more heavily populated by PC gamers than consoles gamers Because of this there are more PC jerks than Console jerks. The voice of one jerk is a greater, much greater, than the voice of one a normal person. Because of this it seems that the entire community is hating on consoles and in retaliation some console gamers hate back on PC gamers. It doesn't help that 'console-tards' and 'console-kiddies' are terms that get thrown around all the fucking time. Seriously, those terms are damn annoying and yet when PC gamers get called elitist they get annoyed? If PC-tard begain to be a common term than there will blood flames.

It doesn't help that a lot of the complaint threads concerning games or what have you come from PC gamers. Bad ports often take up a lot of this, the L4D2 boycott seemed to be made up mostly from PC gamers and let us not forget this IW fiasco. It seems that if a downer thread is made, it's made from a PC point of view. This isn't neccesarily a bad thing but you never see a 'lets talk about good stuff' coming from a PC player. If a console player makes a negative thread, in particular regards to a PC game, they get flamed to hell.

Not to mention that at this stage in console wars people don't argue about the different consoles anymore, mainly because the Wii is selling more than any other, all arguments seem to fall back to consoles VS PC. Because of the greater PC community this results in console gamers losing the justification of their console argument by sheer force of numbers from the PC side.

87% of all console gamers are rabid monkeys. Know where i pulled that statistic from? Out of my ass, jsut like everyone else saying "most". You see, "most" of these users dont necessarily comment where you see them so there is no way one person can (from their only experience or even that gathered from a collective group) know what the majority are like.

Simple reason why console gamers hate PC gamers and vice versa? People are idiots, stop pretending there is any logic behind it. It is simple hate over differences.

Because console gamers are to stupid to figure out how to put down the chainsaw and play a game with a GOOD story.

The controller issue is silly - a PC is obviously better because it can use a far wider variety of input devices, including a console-style controller. A mouse is vastly better than a controller for precise movements and a keyboard has more keys, which allows for easier use of complex games and allows each gamer to configure the controls to their liking.

PC hardware is far more powerful. PC games are cheaper. PCs are more versatile. PCs don't gouge you insanely for storage space (e.g. £100 for a 120GB HDD for Xbox360, £35 for a 500GB HDD for PC that's also faster). The big advantages of consoles are relative cost of the basic hardware and convenience of installing games (though that is less true than in the past).

So yes, the PC is a far better gaming platform...at a price. My graphics card cost more than an XBox360. Consoles aren't bad, they're just not as good.

That isn't elitism - it's simply true that PCs are more powerful, more versatile and vastly better for complex games due to the standard input devices.

But I also game on the Wii, because it's a good laugh. Mediocre graphics and games on a par with free Flash games on the net, but it's a good laugh.

The only thing that annoys me about consoles is that they've become the de facto standard for game development and that drags down PC gaming. All too often, weeks or months later, someone having a quiet day spends a couple of hours porting it to PC and making a pig's ear of it. I've seen ports to PC in which they didn't even bother adding a way to exit the game back to Windows, or any support for any input device other than a console controller, let alone upgrading the graphics to PC standard. They then leave it to fans to do the port properly, because they regard PC gamers as a bunch of gullible peasants only good for some more profit. Resident Evil 4 comes to mind.
