Why do PC gamers get so much hate

I can try listing what I found in it that was poorly done.

Weapons
Weapon ranges,ammo, damage,ect are all over the place the pacing on the weapons themselves is poor you need a generic level like whats in the game then 2 more levels of weapons where the weapon say the 10MM Pistol has the generic rusty version, restored version that is more accurate and dose more damage and a customized version that is even more so then of coarse after this the unique weapons that only have one version of in the game. The melee weapons are also poor there needs to be a better version of each and they all should have more tweaked reaches and damages,ect.

Toolbench
The whole have blue print you can make stuff is nice but like the magic pot on DQ7 you can only make 10 things with it there's no real customization you should be able to get alot more out of it and make 2 or 3 versions of the weapons you build with new blue prints of coarse.

Equipment/items
Like the weapons very very under utilized you simply need 2 or 3 types of each and be able to stack some of them, as well as build and tweak them on the toolbench.
Oh gawd how they under did jet..it should be a slow time+ speed modifier and vat point tippler.... other stuff is under done and poorly done as well....

Radiation
Radiation only effects the player its not a mechanic the whole game uses its just something for the AI/items/enviroment to use against the player. And because of that another fasit of the game is shallow and craptastic.

Vats
Ranges, points used its all just crap rushed there's no polish or refinement its a stale bone they threw at older FO fans....

Skills/EXP
Being limited to 100 for one them going up a bit to quickly for 2. Past 100 you should be able to raise them at a 10 to 1 ratio with a cap of 30 skill points a level, and levels continue forever they just get farer and fewer between, at lvl 30 you need to gain all the EXP you needed to get to 30 to get to 31 and the same for 32. or something like that the way they did it purely sucks.

Perks
I wish they had a perk where you can add 5 levels to your level for the perpouse of getting preks...but thats pretty much it... I think.

Level design
Its a bit bland for the size of it they did a good job at hiding things I guess over all it has better level layout than any other shooter. Still its a minor annoyance the invisi walls and stuff...

Basically items+ gameplay is solid for 5-10 hours then falls apart like crazy because they were to busy wanking off on the the DLC.
And this is more or less true of Bioshock only add in its short and easy....
Fire Daemon you really need to re read the definition of elitism and then go figure out what the difference between special and standard is. Expecting standard functionality to be present in a product is not elitism because such functionality is not special. Nor is the PC special, by definition it is different. If people were to abuse the definition of elitism as you have, they could argue that people who ask for larger stalls in bathrooms so that they can fit their wheelchairs in are being elitist because they require different functionality due to their disabilities.
We all play games it shouldn't matter so much what we play them on or which ones we do. Respect one's freedom to choose. I was always sick of being awesome at PC games but the skill didn't translate to XBox when I was invited to lan games. I didn't own an XBox, just a PC and PS2. So this generation I devoted myself to becoming 1337 at all games across all platforms. I don't have a DS though... but that system is for Noobs! lol, jk jk.

I have had the RROD before and I have had a $200 video card stop working for absoloutly no reason at all. I enjoy games on both. Usually getting good RTS and stratagy games on the PC and Shooters/ =action games on the consoles.

Fair enough. Though the reason you never hear console pirates going on about it is because piracy is much more recognized as a PC thing, console piracy on a large scale being fairly new (can't pirate cartridges) and almost all the discussions are about PC piracy. I guess that has to do with the openness of the platform, making it much easier to pirate things than on a console. Perhaps PC users just have more free time to waste on pointless discussions and flamewars about piracy, who knows.Mantonio said:

The fact is, you can build a decent PC that will last years for around £300 or so. It only costs a large sum if you're the type of gamer who needs everything on highest settings. Medium/low settings are basically the same quality as its console port graphically.
So yeah the PC itself costs a bit more, but the games are cheaper, and most have mod support, plus there's cool things you can do, such as easy matchmaking via steam or xfire.
You try explaining this to a console fanboy in a rational way, and you get called an elitist, followed by "at least I don't pirate games!!" and "haha your modern warfare 2 is downgraded to be the same as ours!" and "my way of gaming is better as it's just put the disc in and play" and such.
P.S. I'm not a PC fanboy. Got my 360 and PS3 both hooked up, and they are my preferred platforms, but I accept PC gaming is generally of higher quality.
You're right, but you're missing one factor. PC games are cheaper than console games, which is obviously a factor in the overall cost of gaming. Console games include a payment to the console company, which of course is passed on to the customer.Dys said:

In practice, it isn't as good as it first seems. The casing of the monitors really gets in the way. It's like fitting bars to the windscreen of your car - irritating. Also...who can afford 6 good monitors and a PC capable of rendering games at 3x2 times the native resolution of them? You're looking at anything up to 7680x3200 (2560x1600 is a standard PC resolution).happysock said:

This can run Crysis at about 30fps. True you have to build it yourself, but it works out cheaper than pre built and is very good.

PC gamers are often hated by console (and console-only) gamers because we're elitists.

We feel like we are entitled to the best and only the best, and we expect said best.
COD4: MW2 is a good example of this; we had grown used to our superior-than-console versions of many games, and this sudden drop in quality got many of us upset and/or angry. Not only had we lost all the things that made us great, we were now stuck in the same boat as everyone else with the watered down version.
Of course, NOBODY denies the PC gamer what we want, and within a week we had restored MW2 to what would have been it's glory if IW/Activision/Bobby hadn't been money-grubbin fools. In this process, IW probably lost a LOT of sales because the PC gamers weren't willing to actually PAY for something hackers had to fix.
While all this was happening, the console-only guys were left confused by our 'passion' for these things, they didn't understand why we wanted them, and from their point of view yes we are massive snobs and elitists. Mind you, considering their version was the inferior one by a LONG shot, they didn't really know any better; they couldn't comprehend what we were fighting for.
And to an exetne many still don't. They don't know why dedicated servers are great for online, and for all their XBL/PSN loving they don't even have a chance of grasping a true online community for a game. They believe mods are the work of the devil; messing with what the glorious game designers worked so hard to make, and they will never create a beautiful texture or model on a console; Photoshop and Maya aren't something they know can be used to do with gaming.

Have an xbox360 and ps2 (no ps3 yet but I plan on buying one) for the past few years but have been using pc's for bout 10 years, just bought a nice new shiny one from ocuk for lots of moniesSantoUno said:

Its just done differently to consoles, allows more people to play in one game, less lag, no games ending due to hosts leaving.I was kind of suprised to say the least, I played the first MW on xbox live and played MW2 on pc but as both had the same match making system I didnt really notcie much difference. A friend of mine though who doesnt own a console and was used to dedicated servers nearly had a cardiac when he was playing using the match making system. He played MW on pc and wasnt used to the lack of dedicated servers. But thats just him I didnt really mind at all.
When it comes to controls it really depends on the game or a persons preference, RTS is no contest a mouse and keyboard is miles better. FPS is largely down to preference I like both means of playing it. When it comes to third person, fihgting or driving games I'd prefer to play em on a console using a controller.
