Seriously, I saw a shiny red button, then I clicked and now Justin Bieber is everywhere because of my actions (long story) so people, why do we click the, don't click this buttons?

I hope you don't think this is a miss leading title, if anything this whole discussion is on miss leading titles.

One simple reason: We want to see what's so good someone doesn't want us to have!

That, and the effect is hilarious XD

Its like telling a dog "Don't eat this juicy Steak out of my hand." We may hear you, but we want it so bad, we don't listen.

Because after being told not to do it, we wonder to ourselves "Why are we not supposed to do it? What could happen if I did do it? Would there be any REAL consequences to me doing it?" And so sate our curiousity. We push the button. We, in turn, regret pushing the button.

But at least we know.

Because you're baiting them. If you put bait in front of anything, they'll go for it. It's even more enticing when you know it's going to be bad for them. I mean, don't you want to know what it is that you know you shouldn't look at? The anticipation for it is killing you, so why not?

For shits and giggles. Hell, i knew what would happen when i did it, but i figured "why the hell not?" Sure, i gotta look at Bieber's oh-so-punchable face for a while, but at least i'll have stories to tell the grandkids.

It works on this principle:
(apologies for the quality, but it's the best one I could find)

Basically humans are hard-wired to be curious about everything. We have an innate urge to know the unknown, to discover what's on the other side (even at the risk of Bieberfication).

because if we'd listened to every "don't do this" instruction we've ever received, we'd never get anywhere!
