Because it's a button, and dammit, it has to be pressed!

Also, confusion and curiosity are very cruel things.

Easy answer, and it falls into the same category with "do not open", "do not touch" and "do not try to break it":
You guys are stupid

Because I like seeing Justin Bieber on everyone's posts.

Seriously, it can turn the dullest topics into something wonderful.

As a person who's just clicked it to see if anything happens, I can give you one answer: curiosity.

Gods damn it, has my time with D&D taught me nothing?

If you give people something to click, and say DO NOT CLICK THAT, then people will click it.
This is a great study on a case that was close to this situation. [http://cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/badges/32/3d723c08dad17155ba62950ed31f2bb8.png]

I have yet to suffer ill effects from mashing it. Certainly none that are Beiber related.

I'll press it a few more times to be sure.

Edit: I was promised a badge and something called "consequences" whatever those are.

Edit Edit: If I died from pressing this button a lot, I leave all of my stuff to my corpse.

I clicked it because everyone was going on about it in three or four threads, with not a single person mentioning what actually happens when it is clicked. So I clicked.

Why make a button if it is not meant to be pressed is a better question!
OT: Curiosity, got me about 2 weeks back. Never again will I be fooled be shiny, red buttons.
"Never press the Red Button", a dog.

The allure of the forbidden is a very, very strong one. Even if the button in question is bad, people will still go for it.

If you click this button the universe will end!
::Some arserag walks up before the paints is dry::
That can't be true.
::click::
And there goes the universe. That was a webcomic, but I can't remember which.

Im convinced that's theres a secret way to press one of those buttons and it will dispense a cupcake of the user's choosing, i'll stop as soon as i get my cupcake, and proof that i can't somehow repeat the process.

Because if we weren't meant to press a button, they wouldn't have it in the first place..I think the person who makes the damn buttons is the bigger idiot. If the button does something bad, like blow a building up, you need to make it a code so it doessn't get pressed by an outside force or by accident.
