Why Do We Love Nathan Fillion?

Because he's got a hell of a lot of geek credits under his belt. From Firefly to ODST to Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, everything he does seems to be awesomely geeky. It doesn't hurt that he's a good actor.

Plus, like Chuck Norris, he radiates an intangible yet obvious field of awesomeness.

I've never heard of the guy until now, despite maybe seeing him in countless shows/games, he has not stood out for me.

Well, I cant say I hate him then.
My thoughts exactly. The only other time I've heard of him was when people were in favor of him wanting to be Nathan Drake in an Uncharted movie, to which I can only say "Not while Nolan North is still alive!"

I have a passionate hate for the man, I really can't stand him. I think it started as simply me not understanding why he had such a strong following amongst gamers and grew into hatred.

You forgot point number 5: He's a complete goof and that is hilarious. It could be argued that, when he was handed the script for his first episode of Castle, they told him, "Okay, be you, saying these words."

There is a story I heard about Gencon Indy one year, when the Serenity RPG was fairly new. Word is, he saw a group of people sitting at a table with books with the Serenity logo and name, asked what they were doing, and they invited him to join them. He asked if he could play Mal, the GM gladly agreed, and he fell right into character and role-play-gamed alongside a bunch of bystander nerds.

Definitely goes along with the "everyman" sort of theme in the article. Sure, he's famous, but he's not above other people. Very appealing attitude.

Aye, PG Porn. And Mal. And Caleb. And Castle. And Captain Hammer. And probably lots more, but that's what springs to mind in ~30 secs.
He also did the voice of Vigilante on Justice League Unlimited.

My reaction exactly. To be fair, though, I did not watch any of the shows or played any of the games he was featured in.

Is it bad that I've seen all but one of the things you mentioned? Yeah, I like Nathan Fillion.

For the record: he did Firefly before he was in Buffy (just like Adam Baldwin and Gina Torres went to Angel after Firefly got canceled.), and you didn't say ODST, where I believe Buck was quite a bit more important than Reach.

Oh, he was in Jade Empire? I didn't know that!

Yes he is wonderful, love every character he has played, that I have seen. He was actually a selling point for my friends and I for buying ODST. We weren't going to get it, but then I saw the trailer that featured him and told my friends, they didn't believe me until I showed them, then it was an automatic buy for us.

I'm done.
Captain Hammer too, if you haven't seen Dr.Horrible's Sing Along Blog, you are missing out on the best musical ever. I hate musicals, but it was one of the greatest things I have ever seen.

Also, he even was in a small 3 or 4 minute section of Halo Reach. Which was awesome because it brought back the great ODST music for that section. And of course awesome because it is him and we get to hear Buck again. It was a pleasant surprise because I wasn't expecting it.

The reason I like him is he doesn't seem to have an ego, doesn't take himself too seriously, he's got a sense of humour, and isn't ashamed of doing Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Paranormal stuff like so many serious actors seem to be after their carers take off. Then there is the fact he puts his all into his roles, and looks like he is having the time of his life during each scene.
