Probably because even though we should be doing something, not doing it is more appealing at the moment.
And the moment after that.
And after that...and so on.
In case you can't guess, I am a master of procrastination.

Probably because we just want to give all the work to our quite future selves because we know they're going to get it done. Now if you'll excuse me it is very late, I just finished watching porn, and now I need to study for my science test today...again.

For me it's fear. I think deep down inside, I rather abandon the cause than try and fail and get disappointed again, as I'm used to. If I won't get over that soon I might destroy the last dream I have.

I'll think of a reason later. But seriously, things just become boring, and no matter how much we want to do them our brains just can't.

I got to a point during my college years of refusing to do any homework and thus failed some courses. Procrastination bites back hard!

Can you take me as your disciple next week?
Maybe.
Or the next week.
I'll let you know.

You know when I had an assignment due I made the same thread.

This may sound offensive but I'm honestly doing this for your own good -

[HEADING=2] GET TO WORK ASSHOLE! [/HEADING]

Unless you're really fit, I suggest you start doing your school work because chances are you're not strong enough to carry boxes for the rest of your life.

Here are some anti-procrastination techniques

1) Count to 10 and then suddenly spring up to do the work. If that doesn't work keep repeating.
2) Set a low level goal, if you don't reach it in 10 minutes slap yourself.
3) If you don't need the internet pull out your modem now.

Its part of the human "makeup" everyone procrastionates even if they say they dont. I dont think there is a real explanation why, it kind of just happens.

Couldn't be arsed doing anything productive unless a deadline is looming or its life changing.
I think thats a universal feeling.

As Mark Twain once said, "Do not put off until tomorrow what can be put off till day-after-tomorrow just as well."

We as people generally only procrastinate unpleasant things, such as homework, chores, etc. I sort of figure it's just a good way to cope with having to do annoying, tedious tasks. By not doing them, of course.
My sentiments exactly. Life is already full of constant toiling; deadlines, appointments, assignments, work, drudgery...All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Procrastination is a way to manage the ridiculous workload. It becomes a problem, however, if one starts using it as a shield against all sorts of responsibility. It makes going back to work even more difficult.

But for now, forget your duties, sit back and catch your breath. You can do the rest tomorrow (If you can´t, then the day after tomorrow.)
