I don't fear death, since once I'm dead I will not feel anything at all, let alone anything unpleasant that I should actually be afraid of.

I do, however, fear the excruciating pain I am likely to experience during the moments before I die.

Because there is nothing beyond that, I percieve it almost like a perpetual dreamless sleep.

Because of the afterlife.
Is it even there? What kind is it? Which way i go? What happens when i get there? Do we finally get the cake?

Two things

1. The possibility of there being no afterlife so I just cease to exist I'm not a religious person but I like to think there's an afterlife

2. Being buried and forgotten.

NOTE: Ninja'd by the post above me and probably countless others I guess I need to read more before I post.

I was hit by a car when I was 12 and I almost died.

Trust me, if you don't fear death, you should start. Death is one scary ************.

I don't fear death. Honestly, I'm curious to know what it's like. I wan't to live a nice life first, but when it happens it happens.

Wah, nonsense. Just because you have a creepy story about it that you have so heavily invested yourself in, you produce the fear that you now experience.

I do mind losing the people I love, but that's not enough reason to fear that. I would mind being dead, if I could then still care about it, which I can't, therefore there is absolutely no point in fearing it.

You don't have to fear something to do your best to avoid it. Fearing death just takes away from the enjoyment of being alive. So where's the point?

Death is just a permanent inconvenience.

So you don't fear everything ending?

Tell me, if a guy put a gun to your head, do you think you would still be in that mindset?

Do you think you wouldn't fear the thought of that bullet hitting you and ending your life?

People who say that aren't afraid of death of just stupid.

I don't fear death. He, I, God, The Devil and Nergal all play poker on Wednesdays. He's a pretty cool guy once you get to know him.

The fear of the unknown is my big reason for fearing death. Also, it means I'd never see my family or friends again so its pretty damn scary.

I don't like having deadlines. It makes me feel like I've wasted my time and I'm sure that death will remind me of that. Well, dying will, I'm sure I won't remember anything after death.

I don't fear death. I fear the unknown. I also fear the pain I might have to go through before actually dying, so I'd rather avoid it.
