I love noobs, they make me look good :p

and most games I play have a votekick function, so they really don't bother me that much if they are the annoying type

I don't mind new people in MMOs and such who ask questions, I answer and try to be nice to them since its their first day and all. But, if I meet the one n00b who asks for help, then I answer, yet they either keep asking for help or answer with the same question.. yeah. My eyes glaze over and I leave such people alone, since I always seem to meet them.

They make you lose in team games and kill multiplayer, but you cant blame them for learning I usually just tell them to try single player first so they dont suck as much.

aahh ok, I call them BKs, I refer to noobs as people who've just started playing a game and are trying to figure out how to use it properly..

I think you may have it wrong. What you are describing is a "newbie", someone who is new to a game's multiplayer section, who people generally don't have too much of a problem with.

The term "noob" is a name given to people who either use methods designed for new players (ie using the grenade launcher in MW2) despite being experienced player, or are generally unlikeable because of anger issues, excessive swearing/gay jokes, or the like.
Grenade launchers aren't designed for new players. It's part of the game. The people who get pissed at being hit by grenade launcher are noobs for being sore losers.
Oh, so dying because I was in the same room as the person who the noob toober was actually aiming at makes me a noob? You must be a fan of the GL, so let me describe some of the many qualities that make this a starting weapon:

1)it's usually one of the first unlocks for every gun that has it

2)it can hit from across the map and kill multiple people at once

and here's the kicker

3)you can get killed by someone using it despite you having killed him first, just because he pulled the bloody trigger.

This is like coming to a knife fight with a flamethrower. The only reason why it isn't being used by everyone is that you only get one shot at a time. It may be a part of the game, but it is definitely a part for those who haven't yet gotten the hang of FPSs yet.

Doesn't matter. It's a part of the game. Complaining is being a sore loser. I don't care how "unfair" it seems. It's not. And no, it isn't dying that makes you a noob, it's bitching about it. War isn't fair. There is a lot of luck and advantage-taking. Yes, I know, it's a game, not war, but sports are based on strategies derived from the realization that an opponent has some weakness. War is the same way, except people die.

From what you say, that means it is perfectly fine to take advantage of any balance issues that a game has. When it comes to games like Modern Warfare 2, there should be a balance and should only go down to skill, not some easy "I win" button.

Not at all. War is hardly a game decided only by what guns an army has. There is a lot of luck in war, as in almost any competitive game, and there is plenty of skill. Why do you think we pay so much attention to training soldiers and the teaching of Sun Tzu? Even the Red Baron put emphasis on the skill of a fighter pilot.

Well the main reason I hate noobs is that they beg for information and necessary items. I'm sorry, every game I've played I figured it out myself and got me this far, you can make it too.

Well, noobs aren't that annoying if they actually have brains (understand a "no" for example)

What's really annoying is the ones that consider themselves better than others/know better/more skilled and call everyone dying/whatever "noob!" and then shout "lucker!!" when they get killed.
Like my last LoL game, one in my team asked me to change champion because he considered it to be the crappiest one in the game. I didn't, got most kills/death in the entire match, and he had worst (not a single kill), but still claimed that it was I who sucked and not him. That kind of people are worse than noobs.

You're forgetting that we're talking about a game, which is based upon set rules. More importantly, we're talking about multiplayer, which was designed for players so that they can face an opponent who doesn't follow a set path each and every time, making it a matter of skill. If someone suddenly doesn't play based upon the conventional rules of fair play, then it not only ruins the experience for the other players, but renders the issue of skill moot. Things like the GL (remember, we were talking about the GL?) do that very thing when used by more experienced players.

You keep saying that since it's part of the game it's all right, but if that were the case, then I could theoretically put in some like the Rods from God and sit in a corner whilst everyone else get repeatedly killed by huge spikes from space, and no one should have an issue with it.

People don't hate "newbies" they hate "noobs" which essentially is a moron.

Everybodys been new at a game before, you go on, play sensibly ask a few questions and get to a respectable level pretty quick.

What people hate is when someone joins a server runs right infront of people and sprays bullets everywhere teamkilling everyone constantly spamming the chatbox
"HOW I UZE GRENADE ON DEM?"
"WHERE IS ENEMY LOL!%!£!!!!!"
"LOLOLOLOLOL"
i see these comments monthly for the past 5 years in all the games i have played online. so THIS for sure.

newbies are fine, i try to be super helpful when i can and hopefully give them pro tips, noobs however....dont even get me started, i will teamkill the shit out of you if you are being a noob(possibly tubing) douchebag who teamkills/spams the mic/spam messages

Rods from God wouldn't be in an FPS. Rods from God are a concept of a strategic weapon. FPS games do not have theater bases strategic situations, therefore no. However if the game were a large scale war then yes, it would be fine, because satellites can be shot down, or you can use your own strategic weapons. Say you don't have anti-satellite weapons. Awww... too bad. People fight around the GL all the time, and you can fight around Rods from God as well.

BTW the game may have set rules, but since the M79 is clearly in the game, that isn't restricted by any rules, and those unwritten laws that say people that use powerful weapons are not skilled and are just little bitches are created by people who just can't take the pain of losing in a video game.

Are you serious? Games can't have conceptual weapons? Have you even been looking at the gaming scene for the last few decades?! I can list off a huge number of games that have been FPSs and have had weapons have haven't been put out into production, or are even in the conceptual stages. Even MW2 has the EMP, which no one has yet developed into a working product.

Which brings me to my next point: strategic weapons being in FPS games. Lets see how many strategic weapons we have in MW2: air strikes, bomber runs, gunship assaults, EMPs, and lets not forget that king of strategic battle, a nuclear strike. This is about as strategic as you can get without involving any high-level strategy.

Who said that I ever lost against them? In most of my MW2 battles where I faced GLs, my team has come out the victor, due in no small part to me. I'm a flanker-type, so they don't often get a proper shot at me before they get a free ticket to the morgue. They only really get me in those "I'm in the same room as the actual target" situations, which are complete and total luck shots. It's only when a person is only getting kills off of them that it feels unfair, both to the shooter and the shootee, and also it renders all that statistic stuff IW been running pretty pointless.
