I think the sound quality is awful on account of the lead singer's voice being muffled by his own ass.
People have opinions and like to hate on certain things. In fairness though even I like Nickleback and I think their music gets quite samey just like Dragonforce's music does. So many songs too much alike bar the lyrics and even then the lyrics are of a similar theme.
I couldn't care less whether they're 'standard' or 'same-y' or not, so long as I get enjoyment out of listening to them, problem with Nickelback is that their songs tend to get old fast, they don't age well.
the reason i hate them is because their music got forced on me constantly. i hate " if today was your last day", because my brother played it to death and so did Scuzz. i would'nt be too bothered if their music wasn't mediocre.

Like most things, they're nowhere near as bad as people would have you belive. Their first two albums are actually pretty damn good, but they've gotten rather crapper over the years.
They are popular, people who are unpopular like to pretend they have a deep personal hatred of things that are popular in the hope that other people will like them in turn making them popular.
Nickleback are ok they are definitely better than that indie band that no one has ever bought a single copy of their album that you pretend is your favoiurite band (unless someone else has heard of them! at which point they are sellouts and they suck)

I am indeed of the vocal minority that has a special, magical hatred for Nickelback. The lead singer has a voice not even a mother could love. It's like hearing man run his dirty, scraggly nails slowly across a chalkboard, and seeing that man surrounded by people pointing with their mouths agape, throwing money at him and calling him full of talent. Also, dude's like forty years old and writing songs about high school, which makes him either a sell out or wildly immature.

Because I am not into Grunge music... I am more into classical rock and Psychedelic (Even though I am not a Druggie or a Hippie) Rock.
Their first album was okay, every other song I've heard from them (or almost every one) sounds the same. It's just repetitive and that's not good. I couldn't care less about them, though.
