I actually asked my gradnfather about this. He said alot of baby boomers and such "Demand" respect because of the war, and the holocaust and all the shit that the world went through. He doens't have that mentality, but he's known alot of elderly men that decide "Because the haulocaust happened when I was alive, I demand respect"

Respect is earned, not granted, but the elderly seem to not know that.

I've run into alot of families like you desribed, but you can't shut yourself in, you just have to say fuck it. Remember: It takes all kinds to fill the world

i think its they may have been though alot and seen some crazy things and they may not get the repect they desive(getting stuck in a home at the age of 70) and are depressed.
so anything(seeing maybe kids saying demorcasy sucks after them working so hard to preseve it
(by the way democrasy does suck but iit the only thing that works so far))could set them of.

Me and my friend (both 17) were walking along my road (that's the road I live on, not a road I own, although that would be cool) and we came up to the corner shop on there. 3 girls who were definitely younger than us (I think one of them is just going into Year 10 in September, making her 14) asked us if we'd buy alcohol for them. We both said no and just kept walking. They inquired as to why, we replied that we weren't old enough, and they then proceeded to call us ugly fuckers. Good ol' Marsh, the kindest district in Huddersfield.

I'd also make a comment relating to the town/city you live in, but I have no idea where Chippenham is or what it looks like.

I think your crying can be explained by being in a whirlpool of negativity, being spit out of it didn't exactly leave you in a great place mentally.

Ya mention you want to do psychology later on to gain insights in these kinda things, i reccomend it and it's a good reason as any to study the subject. In most of what you say though, I blame the parents for setting the bad example, the kids were imitating their horrendous example.

So I just came back from a quick trip to get some school clothes and am reminded while I hate the outside. People. On the way back from getting the clothes I witnessed two things and was a part of one that reminded me. One, I was waiting for my parents outside a shop when a lady came out with four children. One of them (Who was obviously mentally disabled) came out saying loudly 'It's snowing!' (It was raining slightly) his brother (who was about 8) then shouted at him 'No it isn't you dumb prik!' and the mother then said 'I'll give you snowing! If you don't shut the fuck up I'll give you a smack round the head!'. Needless to say I was shocked. Then further on I came across two children and their mother. The older child(10) was teaching the younger child (6) how to give the finger, the young child started giving the finger to passerbys and the mother was laughing and encouraging her. Finally I came to the parking lot when I turned round a corner. A old man lifted his stick up and nearly hi me in the face. He then proceededto give me a earbashing about 'Kids these days not respecting their elders.' If you know me in real life you know I respect my elders greatly but by this point I was annoyed and had had enough. I gave him the earbashing of his life basically telling him 'So your saying that your better then me because your older?!'. I don't feel proud of myself, if anything I just made him more bigoted. This is why I never go out anymore, the outside is filled with people.
Before you say anything I want you to note. I'm crying, I don't know why.

The fact you care so much about other people and how they treat eachother tells me that you obviously are nothign at all like the people you decribed. As long as you go on being a caring person like you are now there will always be at least one good person for people to try and emulate. While some may call you niave and over emotional i think the fact you care so deeply is admirable. I wish more people were "niave" and "too emotional". The world would be a bette place. Take heart in the fact people admire that as a trait and want to be more like that.

Welcome to the unofficial, long, grinding end of the world, or at least humanity. Who knows how long it's been going on for, could've been last decade, could've been within the last century, hell, it may have been happening since prehistoric man, but humanity has been going morally downhill for quite some time now. What was considered unbelievably hateful is unbelievably commonplace and acceptable, and what was known as "good" has become known as "so last century" or whatever passes for english for "outdated" these days.
