I'm in the best shape of my life, thanks to the past 3 years training in MMA (which is the most awesome thing I've ever done in my life)

I recently graduated college studying a field that requires a shitload of luck to get a job in (Radio Broadcasting). I'm 21, living with my mom until I can get a job in radio and support myself. So I'm pretty much no different from a bum, save for the safety net my parents have given me. And while I'm sending out applications to radio stations all over Canada, I'm also sending out applications to whatever the hell job I can get where I live.

The only job I've managed to have gotten my foot in the door with is delivering the newspaper. I only work 1 day a week, and no one else seems to have any room to hire me.

So yeah, being a parasite at the moment kind of makes me feel like shit, but my moment will come. And at least I have a kickass MMA club to train at while I wait.

I'll respond in the exact same way as I do to all my co-workers the moment I walk in the door:

"Fucking glorious. That's right, not just glorious. Fucking glorious."
Haha, that's quite a refreshing change from the "Good, how are you?" response that everyone seems to be programmed to say.

I feel like crap.
my application for the board of my study union got rejected, after I spent hours writing an application letter, days interrogating the members of the current board on how it all works, to figure out which position and tasks would best suit me, I spent the last 2 weeks with nerves as tight as guitar strings and now it's all gone, while my buddies DID get in. It's hard to explain to anyone who isn't a member, but these people really mean a lot to me, they're more family than part of my actual family is, so getting rejected REALLY sucks. It was going to be a busy but awesome year full of parties and fun (day trip to paris, anyone? a ski trip to the alps? excursions to Denmark?). but now I'm back on track for another year of classes.
Maybe it's similar to the fraternities you have in the US in terms of bonding. I can't compare them, cause I've never really talked to anyone who's joined one, but I don't think my parents or friends get what I got so psyched about. other than that, I've got a test tomorrow for which I haven't finished studying and there's a girl I like but I'll screw it up again because I always do. /rant, back to the books.

Neither am I, Even with my current band, I'm terrified of sharing my song or even contributing to songwriting. They are really nice people and I doubt they will but still...

Anyway, an old thread, the one with the music industry guy, says if you ever wanna get into music, consider hiring a music lawyer to handle the legal work for you. A regular lawyer won't catch the subtle music terminology and such.

Still, I'm sorry to hear. I'm hoping it's just some song you wrote down in a day and not something you poured your heart into

Thanks, made me feel a bit better actually :)
It's amazing how much talking to someone actually can help.

I just woke up, if that answers your question. Otherwise, I'll feel a lot better once I smash this awesome-ass cheeseburger.

I'm doing well! My team is working hard to finish our first video game project and there seems to be a good amount of trust in my abilities to drive the business to success. Now if I could only get some funding...

Almost anything new to happen in my life is work related and I feel like I'm missing out on my youth. Ever since I've quit my job more than half a year ago, I didn't have much social and it affects my morale. It's a good thing that I got my girlfriend with me, or else I'd waste a lot of energy trying to find people who pretend to care to talk with.

Oh and I have absolutely no revenue whatsoever and it's been like that for about 6 months now, so I can't really afford to go out as much as I wished. Since I work at home, going out is the only way to NOT feel at work all the time, so it does get unnerving.

But then again, as I said, I'm doing fine! I understand that my ambitions require some sacrifices, and if I play my cards right it will definitely be worth all the troubles. I can't wait to see what comes next in my life, and that in itself is a good reason to be happy.

Not too bad actually, currently at a friends place eating pizza, and when she wakes up from taking a nap we might be watching "pitch black". Then I plan to go back to my place and play Pokemon Black until I pass out from sheer exhaustion. Shaping up to be a good night.

There's nothing better in this world than the feeling of accomplishment. Especially in Martial Arts, to me, at least. :)

I have finished my last year of school two days ago, got my report, went to the graduation ceremony and everything, and now I am finally free and happy. :)
