I find no offense at all, Yes I am transgender but sadly no I am not a cute one. I am more of a bear I guess you could say or more a tomboy caught in a very masculine boy's body. Never have I worn a dress but I think I will at least once if it grinds against the grain of people such as him. ; )

Regarding Pride parades.

A lot of countries still actively legislate against GLBTQ people and people still face a great deal of hatred and violence against them. That is why Pride Parades began - because there is unity and safety in numbers. Consider the Pride Parade in Croatia recently - the marchers were faced with violence and stone throwing by people who think that she not be permitted an authentic and safe life.

Socially, Pride events are nice to attend sometimes because it is nice to not have to feel like you are an invisible minority. The sensation of being in a large group and knowing that everyone around you is GLBTQ can be a very liberating and empowering feeling. Unless you know what it is like, you won't know what it is like - I don't see how else I can explain it. But for a lot of people, it is a powerful thing.

The concept that Pride Parades are nothing but floats full of dancing twinks in tiny shorts is a media construct. Most parades (London, for example) will have marchers from all branches of the armed services, the emergency services, various unions and professional organisations, sports teams and charitable groups. But that isn't as interesting as a drag queen or a prancing boy so the media won't show you - the concept that everyone at Pride wants to shove their arse in your face is....well...nonsense (and it sounds like wishful thinking).

On the day where all people are treated equally under the law and with basic human decency by everyone they encounter then maybe the time for Pride Parades to end will have finally arrived. But we are a VERY long way from that.

I agree. I live in a great country and am surrounded by people who couldn't care less about others' sexuality if they tried, so it can be easy to forget that by and large, gay and transgender people are very, very badly treated. It wasn't so long ago a transgirl was beaten near to death and tied to a fence-post. They were found the next day and rushed to hospital where they later died from their injuries. Sadly, this isn't uncommon and is a reality we shouldn't forget.

It is for the victims of hate the parades take place.

Homosexuality is unnatural, Unnatural doesn't exist and homosexuality do exist in nature, within some animals homosexual intercourse is a form of showing dominance.
Gay marriage isn't supported by religion: So? Religion (Christianity)supports slavery, rape and and killing for stupid reasons within its religious text. and well law doesn't support those.
Gay Marriage isn't valid because they can't produce children: so what he's saying is that infertile people shouldn't get married? also since when has marriage been just about procreation, I thought it was about love between 2 people, what about those children in orphanages? they need parents so why not let homosexuals adopt? surely homosexual parents would be better then no parents??
Gay marriage will encourage others to be gay: This is stupid, Gay marriage wont encourage more people, it might give people more confidence to come out. and surely by that logic Heterosexual marriages discourages homosexual marriages?
Gay Adoption means Gay children: Uhh what? I'm not sure if I've lived some sheltered life but my parents had no influence in my sexuality. also he says straight parents only raise straight kids, WRONG! if that was true then how'd we get homosexuality?

Why should we have to call it civil union? Now, the Catholic church certainly shouldn't have to be forced to marry homosexuals, but if they are married in a church that accepts it, it's marriage.
