I hope you are familiar with that quote, it is taking the opposing argument and representing it in the worst light is a very effective way of proving your point and getting past the linguistic traps of obfuscation that the anti-gays use.
Compressing their argument down to a neat essential point and instantly countering it with irony is a great arguing style.
The only response the anti-gays would have it to attack from a completely different direction, but I don't think there is one left.

As the name should really suggest, it's about giving those people reason to feel good about their sexuality.
So yeah, drop the 'the gay mafia are rubbing their sexuality in my face' crap and consider the function of a wedding ring, of a wedding itself, of keeping a picture of your kids on your desk at work. The only reason noone ever calls heterosexuals up on 'rubbing their sexuality in everyone's face' is because most of you don't see your sexuality for what it is. It's not universal, everything in the world doesn't link back to it or cater to it. Pride is actually one of the things which really doesn't, so maybe stop getting so defensive about it, hmm?

Here in the UK churches do deny gay couples the right to get married in the church (a few are ok with it, but none where I live, so I'm not sure how many) but the government gives what is called a 'civil partnership' instead. As to the topic of gay marriage, I'm a bit neutral on the matter. On one hand, I have absolutely no problem with legal homosexual marriage. I think it's a great practice that gets gay couples the benefits of a married couple, such as insurance prices or hospital visiting privileges.
On the other hand, I'm not quite comfortable with the idea of a homosexual couple being married in a church or other religious establishment (Unless of course that religion supports gay marriage. In which case go ahead.)
Basically, I've got no problem with acknowledging the rights of a gay couple to get married. But, we should also pay attention to the right of a church/place of worship to deny a gay marriage since, as far as I'm aware, most religions state that homosexuality is a sin. It would be rather unfair to force them to go against their beliefs.

Most great men were gay, which leads me to believe that maybe straight people are good at only being straight and reproducing, while the gay population are for philosophy and science, as they are not burdened with infatuation for women.
