Sorry guys, but uc.asc turned me off of the show by warning me of the horrible corny musical bits. Sorry!
Clever thread title. More clever than the others on the subject.

By my count, there's only 3 musical numbers in the show so far. If you're still kind of interested but want to avoid them, Winter Wrap-Up in Episode 11, Art of the Dress in episode 14, and The Gala in Episode 26.

Although Winter Wrap-Up is not corny. It fucking rocks.

Despite what other people might try to tell you, liking My Little Pony does not make you less of a dude. It has great writing, great animation, and excellent character. And it makes me happy. Do you need another reason than that?
As soon as you press play, you lose your mancard.
Troll elsewhere, please.
Are you fucking kidding me? Can I not express my opinion. What is not girly about a show based off pastel colored ponies? They even have toys. C'mon bro. At least admit its girly. Not to mention immature.
Is it girly? Of course. It doesn't make me any less manly for liking it. It's not like I've started throwing tea parties with stuffed animals or anything. Is it immature? Just as immature as watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, or Adventure Time, or any other cartoons. Why is that bad? In a world that expects everyone to be so serious and mature, what is so bad about letting loose and being a little immature from time to time?

And worrying about the status of a nonexistent think like a "mancard" and talking down to other people who legitimately enjoy something qualifies as "mature," I suppose.

Wait, it's not normal to have begun throwing tea parties after watching this show?

...? What about Giggle at the Ghostie, Pinkie's Cupcake song, Evil Enchantress and the deliberately bad routine from the settler ponies episode?

And yes, Winter Wrap-up is excellent.

Because that's apparently BADWRONGFUN, which is the worst kind of fun ever. Or so I've heard.

Also may be due to this.

Does "Ohh, the grand galloping gala is the best place for me" not count?

Or the Zecora song?

It's full of musical bits at least, if you don't like the idea of that then the show's probably not for you..

Actually, why would I care if other people want to or don't want to watch it?

I'm relatively new to the whole internet scene
Wow, I've never had an opportunity to welcome someone to the internet before! Google [www.google.com] is over there, Youtube is over here [http://www.youtube.com/], Ebay is over there [www.ebay.com] and The Escapist is, well, here!

I'm sure you already know all that by now but it's just a bit of free advice. Type My Little Pony into the searchbar in Youtube and you'll find what you're looking for.

Nothing at all. But there is a big diffrence between my little pony and avatar. I would watch my little pony with a toddler. I can watch avatar with a child and actually be able to sit through it without imploding.
Hmm, I never really found Avatar:TLA to be that great but I'm not going to demean you for enjoying something I don't like.

Well, of those that I can only remember Evil off the top of my head, and It's not very long, though it's done twice, and the second time is probably better.

It's a show for little girls that people try to justify for some odd reason. Tell me what is mature about ponies with tatoos of rainbows on thier buts prancing around singing about friendship. I mean, holy shit, other kids shows make fun of it for gods fucking sake.
Who tries to justify it? We all know its a show made for little girls. To bad they failed at making it a hit on its targeted audience. Its just I fun show that as soon as you start watching it (and if your like me, the 1 hr after he sit down staring at nothing, just trying to figure out why the hell you enjoy it) you just get sucked into it.

Yeah but those only go on for like 30 seconds at the most. The 3 big ones are like a quarter of the episode each.

Because that's not what it is. At all. That's what the older cartoons were like because those were only aimed at little kids, but this one is surprisingly well written, acted, and animated, and is a lot less cringe-worthy than a My Little Pony cartoon should be.

Seriously. Watch it with an open mind and you'll see that it's not a cheesy '80s cartoon.

EDIT: And there are almost no musical numbers. Most of the ones that are there are short ones played for humor. The show knows what it is.

Haven't seen the others, but winter wrap-up is actually pretty awesome. I was mostly thinking of the one dude... er, pony, who tends to sing something silly for like 20 seconds every couple episodes.

Anyway jail, it's too late for you to turn back now.

Do you want to know what keeps people from liking and accepting this show? Bill Burr can explain this one...

And I can sit and watch My Little Pony by myself without imploding. I believe by the standards you just stated, that makes me more manly.

Hiding behind petty labels such as "girly" is something that greatly limits one's potential experiences. Such artificial fascets of our culture truly do nothing but make us miss out on things that would otherwise entertain us. If you care about such petty things as "man cards" than I do believe it is you that should learn to mature, and hedge criticisms based off of experience and not simply notion.

But yes. In so far as your rather close-minded understanding goes, one could concieve the show to be "girly". But if such a thing matters to you than I think that the only characteristic that having a "man card" bestows is ignorance and immaturity. And I would rather not wish to be in possession of such a thing.

Yes you may have your opinion. But that is not to say that I can't aim to correct your opinion so that others are not put off by the flawed reasoning behind your opinion.

Yeah, and they're Disney quality songs which is why they are so awesome.
