I would be fine with it if it was optional.

Like Brawl and Clash of Ninja, they were made much better by letting motion control be optional.

***Pun in poor taste follows***

Someone needs to give project NATAL an abortion, along with the rest of the motion sensitive projects in the gaming community, starting with the entire Wii console.

God I hope not. I have nothing against motion controls, but I can never become immersed while using them.
If done right, it might be cool, but, seeing as they would be gimmicky I will pray to god that NATAL stays away from my favorite gaming franchises.

I doubt it. Elder Scrolls 5 will probably come out before Natal, and even so, it would be a gimmick for the game, and nothing more.
I doubt that TES5 will come before NATAL. Considering that Bethesda said that don't expect to see TES5 anytime soon. They also probably working on Fallout 4 and Blink(Or is it Brink?), and those 7 Voice actores Bethesda has can't be in all places.

The day The Elder Scrolls enters the realm of motion control is the day I hang up gaming all together.

No. Natal is a gimmick, and as such should not be a core piece to any big game's control scheme.

Is Elder Scrolls V even confirmed yet?
I don't think so, but if you look at the success that Oblivion had, it's probably gonna happen.

i sword fight so it may(i give this advantage the likelyhood of working 1000 to 1)give me an upperhand, same with archery people. Just use a actuall weapon and stand back from the tv(and everyone else) but i think that moving, picking shit up and everything will get old. Plus this if you get wounded in game your character stumbles but you stay standing. to me that kills the imerrsion and seems like the game may have trouble adapting.
I like my lazy games

I hope not magic would become quite the *****. I mean having to do some complex arm movement to get a specific spell would be horrific.

I doubt it, wouldn't make much sense unless The Elder Scrolls has become Xbox exclusive, unless it has, it will either not use it, or just use it badly like most non-exclusive wii games.

No, it will not. I could see it on the other hand using the new PlayStation Motion controller. I could see the controls being adapted to it rather easily. But that I actually doubt as well. Why would Bethesda spend all that extra cash adapting the control scheme in the code when everyone will have a old school controller all ready? It just makes no sense.

Combat in the elder scrolls isn't meant to simulate combat, it's meant to simulate rpg combat. Motion control wouldn't work unless combat is completely overhauled.

What if it was? Wouldn't that be, to say the very least, freakin' awesome?

Nothing better than a skill grinding game where the player actually has to exercise to grind those skills. What a fantastic idea! I can already hear the cries of satisfied customers everywhere.

With torches. And pitchforks.

I really hope it doesn't. Elder scrolls has a lot of small commands and stuff that I think there would just be too many motion controls to handle. You pick up a book and read it, do you have to turn every page as if you were really turning them? Jumping and ducking would also be very problematic. Motion controls just aren't advanced enough to work properly on complex games. Games like Zelda for instance are still mostly button controlled. I like working out and being active and everything, but when I play a game I don't want to be sweating and flailing all over the place. Sure I own a Wii and I play it, but when I sit down to game it's on my PS3 or PC.
