Please tell me that PC version is free for those who paid for it before or I'm gonna be mighty peeved.
Would you happen to know a good LP for the first Witcher? I want to be familiar with it before I play the sequel, even if Witcher 2 works as a standalone game.-Seraph- said:I couldn't stop watching that intro, one of my favorite intros of all time along with one of my favorite games/RPGs of all time. It is a work of art, and shows how threatening the King Slayer is, and highlighting the abilities and combat prowess of a Witcher.
I'm tempted to buy the Dark Edition just for that sexy art book and Wolf Medallion. I'd wear that thing always. Well that, and just to further support these guys, fucking can't wait for what will most likely be Witcher 3.0 patch. This will make for an awesome 3rd (I'm just gonna abandon my current 3rd playthrough as it is now) and 4th playthrough.
While it picks up and references the original game, it can be played and enjoyed mostly without playing the first. Witcher 1 was more of a "gateway" game that introduced us to Geralt and hist world, its own story which was more on a personal level than a grand political scale. The ending of W1 segues into W2, but for the most part, 2's events are mostly their own.Daystar Clarion said:Just a quick question. Does Witcher 2 follow on from the original? Or is it a stand alone title?Waaghpowa said:CD Projeckt Red are awesome, who doesn't like free stuff?
I will be buying the Xbox version of this game just because they deserve the money, but I will continue to play the PC one.

No I don't, but I'm sure if you dig enough on youtube you will find one...or just buy W1 and try to enjoy it.DustyDrB said:Would you happen to know a good LP for the first Witcher? I want to be familiar with it before I play the sequel, even if Witcher 2 works as a standalone game.
I'm currently watching one by Toegoff [http://www.youtube.com/user/Toegoff#g/c/81C6DE4966651A0B]. It's pretty good. If a bit long, though I would say that that's more the fault of the gameDustyDrB said:Would you happen to know a good LP for the first Witcher? I personally haven't played TW2, but I've read somewhere that you can import the data you have for The Witcher 1, carrying over many decisions you made in the first game, a la Mass Effect.Daystar Clarion said:Snip.
I never felt for a second that it was anything but a PC game.Hammeroj said:Come on. Come the fuck on, CDProjekt. Are we still pretending that what you released in 2011 was an actual PC game at this point? This is a full adaptation of The Witcher 2 for a console. Well, 'least the trailer looks nice.
You mean you didn't hear any of the whining about it being too hard?Daystar Clarion said:Holy shit, that trailer was sexy as hell.
I may have to pick this game up. I've heard nothing but good things about Witcher 2.
I play and enjoy Dark Souls, I can't see Witcher 2 being Dark Souls hard.Waaghpowa said:You mean you didn't hear any of the whining about it being too hard?Daystar Clarion said:Holy shit, that trailer was sexy as hell.

And to answer your initial question, like everyone else said, you'll be fine.
I'll check it out. The last time you recommended me an LP, I adored it. Thanks, man.CM156 said:I'm currently watching one by Toegoff [http://www.youtube.com/user/Toegoff#g/c/81C6DE4966651A0B]. They massively updated the combat to be just overall better, after that patch I enjoyed it enough to give it 2 playthroughs, I would advise you revisit it soon, also the game isn't too hard on regular difficulty after you learn the basics (which the new tutorial helps with greatly).Hammeroj said:snip
