It's worth remembering a fanboy is akin to a poisonous snake, if you just walk away the snake will let you be and carry on without incident but if you activley seek it out and provoke it then it will lash out and bite you... and you have no one to blame but yourself for this occurance.

That said I do have a serious problem with the PC elitist mob out there, I am fully aware that the PC makes use of more buttons and that it has a greater proccessing power and that the two combined can allow more complex games.... but that DOES NOT give them the right to then act snooty and smug and stuck up towards people who play on consoles. It DOES NOT make them mature to bully and insult people who dare to say something like:
"I love playing Call of Duty and Halo multiplayer on my Xbox with friends."
With something like:
"Ohh you poor foolish little boy, you obviously don't know two shits about gaming because you play on a console. I play on a PC and I play real games like TF2 and Counter Strike which are much better then the pathetic dross of 'games' that you like to play, so obviously that makes me better then you, by the way I'm not in the least bit sorry to bully you for merely stating what you personally enjoy doing with your time because it's different to how I spend my time and therefore you must be a lesser being."

That above all else, makes me VERY angry.

Sonic fanboys.

They just don't seem to be able to admit that he hasn't made half decent console title since the Megadrive era!

One of these thinks Sonic Unleashed is the best game ever made....I'm not kidding and I know him personally.

His handheld outings have been okay however (Sonic Rush, Advance)
Sonic Unleashed: the Best g...no, I can't even say them together. No.

What I wonder is: How freaking hard is it to make a good Sonic game? Just do something similar to the first one, I don't care if it means the graphics will be a little worse, just give me a decent game.

Halo Fanboys followed closely by ignorant console fanboys who can't admit that consoles have never and for a long time won't be even on par with even a mediocre PC in the hardware genre...
Hi there Pot, you ever met kettle? He's a little shy about his color, sad times we live in indeed.
...What?
Well, you sounded a little PC fanboyish in your post, so I pulled out the good old "Pot calling kettle black" cliche.

Oh yeah I got it now and yeah I am a PC fanboy. let me clarify that I'm not calling consoles bad they have a lot of things going for it like making gaming easily accessible and user friendly to many people, and also pulling gaming into the mainstream but I'm just saying the PC is superior to consoles in the hardware department because of the amount of customization that can be put into it... though aot of the time at the cost of ur soul...

PC fanboys, their attitude tends to be detrimental overall.
Next up would be console fanboys who refuse to play anything but their one console of choice or even entertain the thought that anything else might be good.
Third are fanboys of old games from previous generations who don't accept that the franchise is dead/moved on.
Yeah, the primarily PC game playing community is not entirely comprised of these idiots. (Not you, the fanboys). I hate it when people meet 3 fanboys, then say the whole PC gamer peoples are dumbasses.

Well, you aren't unnervingly annoying about it, so I'm alright with you.

Personally, I like all consoles and PC gaming. Depends on what I'm playing really. RTS games always are much, much better on the PC.

Unless I have some prejudice I'm forgetting I only dislike a game if I have some experience with it, for example, I don't like Halo and the Xbox because the controls feel clunky, but I don't (dis)like Bioshock or Mass Effect or Dissidia or "Any other game I've never experienced at all" because I makew a point of only disliking things if I have reason to ... so yeah, my answer is any fanboy from any sub-group that dislikes something without reason.

Yeah it took getting Oblivion for the PC myself much to the tortured cries of the fanboys I'd met to find that out. The non-fanboy-elitists are usually pretty cool people. But like with most communities, the bad seeds ruin it for everyone by being the most notable and commonly seen by people who aren't part of the community. The fanboys are dicks though, can't stand 'em.
Yeah. Like Chocolate Crumbs in Left 4 Dead 2. WHO IS ME!! (You may have played with me!)

I'm pretty much a PC fanboy, but that doesn't mean I don't like consoles. I play on alot of consoles at my friends house but if I want to do a shooter or RTS with reasonable controls the pc is just the best. That was to all who said pc fanboys (you're right though :p)

Well, I hate Halo/Cs/BBS/CoD fanboys, ah what the hell, let's put GTA in there 2. They just are so piss-annoying when they find out that their game actually has flaws (They all have, alot), and there are way better games out there.

Well written with eloquent prose. You make good use of the thesaurus.

However, I must disagree with your logic that fans of a franchise are not owed anything. In fact, I believe quite the contrary. Developers are able to pay their bills and put food on the table because of their project's fanbase. The fans who hold long conversations with others, frequent message boards, and dissect and analyze every fibre of a game to write about on a wiki are the ones responsible for keeping a franchise's heart beating. To dismiss their interest as a nuisance and as something that shouldn't warrant anything above passing interest is ingratitude.
That's not really what I wanted to imply. Fans are, of course, important to a franchise, and even though the people that call themselves 'fans' often make up only a very small part of a franchise's viewers, players, or readers, it's often the appearance these fans promote that affects people's perceptions of the works- all too often detrimentally, but good fans give a personal touch to the dollar signs and often provide the motivation to make a given installment the best it can be.

What I wanted to highlight, though, was that the work is ultimately the domain of the creator alone. Fans become fans by observing someone practicing an art that they love to resonant effect, and it's unfair, unreasonable, and illogical to pretend to deny the creator the right to do with their creations what they wish, which is often just completing what they wanted to do with the property all along.

If this alienates a fan, so be it. If it alienates every fan, so be it. If it picks up new fans who accept and enjoy the works' new realities, good. If it doesn't and fades away, integrity is a rare reward in itself.

How many sagas stagger onward, installment after installment, in appalling, tortured unlife because the fanbase insisted on them existing well beyond their natural lifespans, void of inspiration or a unified vision? Everything from Sherlock Holmes to Silent Hill has suffered indelibly from this, and it is always remarkably obvious when it happens, even if only because of a nosedive in quality.

I'm pretty flattered, though, that you thought I was being eloquent when I was trying to sound as aloof, stilted, and sterile as possible, in the style of a documentary about a bowel parasite. And although I check the dictionary at least once a week (what the hell does 'obsequiousness' mean?), I'll die before I admit to using a thesaurus.

Touché, I agree wholeheartedly with your more drawn out assessment.
