Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts N' Bolts, considered Banjo-Threeie by Rare but considered by most fans of Banjo-Kazooie as a piece of shit. Let me just say I think it disappointed me as a part of the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, BUT! I though it was a good game on its own. But I will agree that it should be considered more of a side-story than the true sequel to Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

Yeah let's not pin "uses handsome men and well-endowed females while simultaneously forgetting about atmosphere" on the "American dev exclusive trope" board, please and thanks. Plenty of devs the world over, including a rather large number of Japanese devs, do the same thing.

Command & Conquer 4 pretty much tops my list. And while I urge you all not to play it, I defy any one who has to think of a more deserving winner of the title. There are some other bad C&C titles but this one done broke the gameplay so what's left?

Fable II and III

Fable (and fable tlc) is a brilliant game and then they took the foundations of what could have been a fantastic gaming series and fucked it right royally up!
I dislike how lightening doesn't knock off people's heads any more. (Among other things). Seriously, its like Fable II and III are not even like Fable. It's just so different. Kinda like someone switched your tasty chocolate pie with another pie that is two parts ass and one part chocolate. It's different and nasty, even if it is a bit tasty on the surface.

Now Black And White 2. That was a proper sequel.

Gears of War 2, to be honest, it was ok first time through, but after awhile it got old quick and became one of those ordinary shooters where you fight bosses after every level and ride in tanks or fly through the air on predetermined paths, its like being on an airliner with no movie, half the time i was waiting for things to shoot at me.

Resident Evil 5 was a pretty damn good step BACK in the series. It took the horror aspect of the Resident Evil series and took a big DUMP all over it. Gone was the inventory, gone was the puzzles, gone was the scary aspect Resident Evil 5 is just a Clichéfest of every single game cliché of the last 3 years (a sidekick, girl with big tits, the hero is handsome and has taken some steroids, the girls have some sexy clothes ans many others...)it's like if Resident Evil 5 was made by a team of american developpers.
The only way i can agree with that statement more is to directly quote it.
There is nothing handsome about a guy who is smuggling watermelons in his arms.

I second RE5 to RE4.

I also thought Banjo-Kazooie was a helluva great title, but Banjo-Tooie's design and (at times) over-complexity infuriates me. Add to that masturbatory fourth wall-breaking.

And is Nuts and Bolts a sequel or a cash-in? Either way, it didn't do me many favors.

Metroid is dead.
No, no, no! Christ, what is with these comments. It takes more than one flawed game to ruin a fantastic series. I really wish this melodrama would stop.
I get it, it sucked, I know. But one game does not ruin the series that brought us Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, classics. No offence by the by, I understand your rage, I just dislike people taking it so far.
You believe that Nintendo will not get spooked by the quote "disappointing" sales figures and take the time to figure out what went wrong?
Major example: RE4 good, RE5 bad. Nintendo's answer: series reboot time.

Half Life 2. They continued an already horrible game.

Anywho, on to more serious answers. Worst game sequel I think would be Rainbow Six: Vegas II. They took the idea of 'Vegas' and made you go through old-town, without the casinos, lights, and whatnot that made the first one good. Just find it ironic that they took out the one thing that made Rainbow Six: Vegas take place in Vegas.

DMC2 obviously. You really can't get any worse, but if I have to pick something else I'd say World of Warcraft is a crappy sequel if you can consider it the sequel to Warcraft 3: TFT.

THIS:

This game makes me want to shoot pure liquid hate out of every pore in my body. This isn't a BAD sequel, it's an OFFENSIVELY bad sequel.

If I ever meet Tetsuya Nomura, I'll shake his hand, thank him for making Final Fantasy 10, The World Ends With You, and the Kingdom Hearts series, then slap him across the face several times because he made this.

I could go into a full-on nerd rant about how painfully awful this game is, but I'll save that for now.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to clean the liquid hate off of my keyboard.

This isn't a sequel but I think Robodemons for the NES deserves special mention. In regards to a sequel that I strongly dislike, it would have to be Starcraft 2. Its by no means a bad game but as a massive fan of Brood War, it was a terrible experience for me.

Brawl is mine but that's because I loved Melee. Still though, it's pretty shit. Dumbed down to the point where everyone just looks clumsy.

Starcraft 2 with all it's mediocrity and banality after all that fucking hype. Killed both the story and the atmosphere, game play is alright but meh.

Metroid Fusion. It's a good game, sure, but adding in a crappy story is what led the Metroid series to it's down fall. Lets face it, Miyamoto isn't a very good story writer.

Please elaborate for me.
I haven't played the game in a year or two, but I liked that Fusion told some of Samus' past.

Force Unleashed 2 mad me sad. I thought it would be longer then the first and why did it need that scene with yoda but it wasnt a terribly bad game because I still love the fry and toss to enemies but things seemed very repetitive and again saddening short.

Deus Ex 2? It was... trying so hard to be "awesome" and "with it".
I think Mercenaries 2 was more subtle and that game was about dropping, attaching and rolling explosives.
