The 2008 Alone in the Dark wii version. That is the last time I buy a game from hype alone without checking the reviews.

Hmm... I've played spore, and liked it then, and I've played Max Payne, didn't like it, though... Probably the original Deus Ex. Just couldn't get into it. For me, it just felt awkward and old. It's not aged well.
Wait, what? I liked it. A lot. It had great movement capture tech, and a pretty great story. At least in the beginning. Granted, it was mostly QTE's, but with some improvements, they would be awesome. It does things better than a lot of current games, but it's not perfect. The mere fact these abominations (ok, so 2006 was mentioned once but..shadow wasn't so it still counts dammit!) were not mention on this thread earlier means either:
A) People didn't play them (You lucky bastards you!)
B) They've repressed the experience..understandably.
C) Or, for some unexplainable reason, people thought they were good games.

I'm really disliking Thief: The Dark Project so far. Ugliness aside, the stealth is so easy a chimp could master it, the controls and combat are really awkward (For some reason you aren't allowed to walk backwards and I had to bind keys just so I could strafe. :l), they don't do much to establish the lore or the characters so the story feels hollow at this point, the AI is so thick I actually dispatched two of my foes by making them drown themselves. That said, it does have a sort of stupid charm to it, especially the voice acting (of everyone besides the protagonist) and the hilarious animations.
I got literally zero enjoyment out of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and I still call that just about the worst game I've ever played. Spend half an hour skulking and sneaking, fire one shot and have every man and helicopter on the island riding up your ass within the second. I must be doing something really wrong in that game, because I feel like I wasted two dollars on it.

OT: I think Shadow the Hedgehog is probably the worst game I've ever played. Gods it was just too awful for words. Or Alone in the Dark, that was pretty damn awful too.

Having played two worlds 2 I can sympathize with you there. It was horrible. My personal choice tho would have to be Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire. I've had physical injuries that were more fun than playing that garbage. I broke the disk within 20 mins of "gameplay" so I'd never have to be exposed to it ever again.Woodsey said:

Too human. It was absolutely terrible. Check out yahtzee's review of it, he hits the nail on the head.

It was a game my friend leant to me along with I think Dragon Age, I played it for the sheer novelty as I like to do sometimes with knowingly bad games (not DA). Still, PMR was impossibly awful. At least that 50 Cent BotS game managed to be functionally compitent underneath its ridiculousness.Kendell Cambridge said:

Spore was just awfully dumb.
Witcher 2... vulgar, obscenic experience; no redeeming qualities for me. Clickfest combat also.
Oblivion - I tried so hard to like it. It just stood there going NO!

Dude, there's a whole series out there.
