In contrast with most people here the first thing coming to my mind when thinking of "the worst gamer I've ever met" isn't some total dickwad, but actually a pretty nice guy. Or boy.

My WoW-guild once took on a mage as social, who turned out to be a bafflingly inept 14-year old. In contrast with the popular stereotype he did not swear, insult, or talk smack. He was aware he wasn't very good, and tried his best to get along.
That, and he sounded awfully cute over ventrilo. The kind of voice where you picture a set of oversized eyes, and him having to pad his chair with extra cushions, just to reach the keyboard.

Some would call me the most annoying gamer ever, as I camp (often in a team of 5, covering each other and most of whatever area we are in.
I also use whatever cheap strategy I can find.

But what I hate are teamkillers and hackers... Grr...

Any and all idiots on Call of Duty who believe that quick-scoping is the only measure of skill in the game and complain when someone uses a sniper like a sniper is meant to be used, god forbid.

There's also quite a few assholes on Halo as well, like the people who stake their claim to certain weapons and then rage if someone else picks them up.

And any elitists. I understand that you've been playing the game for longer than me, but instead of acting likes this makes you a better person and laughing at my lack of knowledge about a game I have never actually played before, maybe try and help or give advice or something?

I could go on, but I'll just sum it up by saying that there's a lot of assholes out there. I mean, these are the kind of people sites like Fat, Ugly or Slutty [http://fatuglyorslutty.com/] exist to name and shame.

Pretty much this ^

Mainly the people who seem to buy games with multiplayer just to prove they're better than everyone else. And then just use the spam tactics. And still claim that they're better because they won. And if they don't.

"LAG!"
"You only won because I let you!"
"This game cheats! I totally should have won!"

Sorry but spam is easily beatable and not pro at all. You don't need to be pro to beat spam teams, you just need to have a fundamental understanding of how the game functions and a slight ability to combo into stuff also doesn't hurt.

Sure, if they complain when they lose about such ridiculous things then yeah, otherwise though you really shouldn't badmouth them cause they just play the game as best they can and if you can't deal with it you sorta risked the ridicule when deciding to play. It's always about the work/reward ratio. Spamming requires 0 work and can sometimes, if your foes suck, entail huge rewards so if people are not destroyed enough they will never get passed that state. The thing is that they're doing harm to their own enjoyment with the game cause theirs is quite a neutered way to play and they could be having a ton more fun if they learned all the other styles of approaching.

Btw, zoning and spam are two different things. Just cause someone uses projectiles all day it doesn't mean he's spamming. Spam entails a lack of thought and mindless repetition, if he adjusts the speed of his projectiles and runs away to space himself better, he's actually outplaying you in a legitimate style which indeed makes him legitimately better.

Something about pvp in any mmo has the strange effect of turning the most reasonable people into raging douchenozzles. The general rule being: In the event of a loss, it's everyone else's fault and never your own, and if you don't have anything nice to say, say it as loud and as often as possible.

Then the kids mom got on and was saying "he's only 10 why are you being so mean" and blah blah blah, to which he explained why the twat shouldn't be playing a game that's meant for people of the age of 18 or above
This. So much this. If I'm playing an 18+ rated game I expect to be able to use 18+ rated language. Game ratings are there for a reason, and I shouldn't have to censor my behaviour because someone somewhere decided that an 18+ rated game would be perfect for little Timmy's 10th birthday. In that particular situation the fault, if any, does not lie at my door.
I usually point out that it is illegal for them to have bought the game. If they respond with something like "not in my country" I say something like that is why you are all so fat.

This is reason why I only play online with people I know, what with playing The Heist with 1 person I know and 2 I didn't and having one of the unknowns picking up the second can of thermite and forgetting to use it before going Leroy Jenkins when the rest of us were floored!

And to think, the internet almost hurt my feelings. D:

I don't like the FPS community. Most of them are a little too young/retarded for my liking.

Edit: AH! And the people in MMO's that give girls free stuff, and expect tits/cybering/LOVEME in return. I rarely take items from people now because of this. Stop it, just stop it.

I really don't think you need to think about how to play as any of those characters. They play as them because they know they're easily exploitable, can stop a number of character in their tracks because they can just keep pressing a couple of buttons over and over and over... and over... and over.

You see what I'm getting at? If you're making a team that has been shown to be easily exploitable just for the sole purpose of winning.

But again, when they lose, they claim that there is everything wrong with the game everything to do with it but not themselves not having the better team/tactics.

No man, if you do well by not thinking, you can do 50 times better if you do think. If you face players who do think, you'll get crushed indefinitely until you start thinking.

MvC3 is actually a rushdown heavy game, zoning/spam is remarkably weak by comparison since any character can be owned in just one combo. Wolverine alone crushes that spammy team you mention if his user knows how to get in and the other guy doesn't know how to do anything besides spamming drones and missiles.

Small children but also the ones who don't do anything else.

I am all for Call of Duty and sports games introducing people to the medium but it does anger me just a bit to have this:

Them: "Oh yeah, I am a gamer!"
Me: "What do you play?"
Them: "Fifa and Call of duty!"
Me: "Anything else?"

Them: "No" or "Nah its all gay!"

That'd probably do it. I just use the Mute Player option - it doesn't stop them hearing me, but it stops me having to listen to them complaining.

Oh yeah, it's undeniable that there are characters who can beat people who spam this team but it still doesn't make these gamers who use the spam teams any better. They still use teams that have been called out by the community as being some of the worst ones to go up against because their only goal is the win. Not to have fun or anything but just they to claim that they are the best.

An example of the same type of gamer on a different game would be the One Man Army spammers on Call of Duty: MW2. If you don't know, it's when using a perk called One Man Army, the player will fire both of their grenade launchers into the air (usually on the CTF type matches), take out the other team members, use the perk that allows them to switch to any class they wish and switch back to the same one. They'd build up kill streaks and eventually (usually the most likely perk they build up to) get to use a tactical nuke and win the match.

Again, these players will say they have skill when all they're doing is using a perk that has had the misfortune to be exploited so people can just win matches with ease because they fire grenades into one place where they knew people would be until they go a insta-win weapon. They'll brag about it but as soon as somebody kills them, they'll start throwing claims at them about how the other "hard-scoped" or "camped".

Essentially, these are the people who can't admit defeat and will go to lengths to make it certain that they will win because they want to be "the best", even if the way that they win is something that people who play think is a cheap way to do so.

My last roommate. All the signs of a classic "weeaboo" (colossal anime fan who can't understand either Japanese OR personal hygiene. Go look it up), plus he basically reduced all of our games to a simple statistics competition. That ruined Gears of War 3 for me. His favorite was who had the best K/D ratio in Gears 3, especially considering he was fighting bots on casual with his girlfriend (don't ask, I don't know how she got herself into that one).

He's a pretty decent Sniper, I'll give him that. But anything else involves hunting down the most available melee weapon (Lancer, Gravity Hammer, the B button) and rushing into the enemy recklessly for a kill. His driving's even worse; his instinct is to get into the Warthog driver seat and splatter everything in sight, no matter how many players are in the 'hog with him. We've died plenty of times in those situations.

Whatever, I've moved out now. Got a place all to myself. I still burn voodoo dolls of his visage every weekend though. Maybe not exactly what you were looking for in this forum, but I answered the question, ok?

Anyone under the age of 12 playing any Call of Duty game. I have been called a fag so many times.
So many.
Half of the little bastards probably don't know what it even means the idiots.
But that's the price you pay for playing online.
