That one level in Jak3, the one with the mine cart?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
The one where you and Sig go after the giant centipedes? Cus' I loved that one!

The one from Jak 3 I hated however, was the one where you need to rescue all the goddamn people trapped in the desert, in a dust storm, and fight a fucking Dark Maker drone, in under ten minutes.

I like Operation: Anchorage. But it was pretty weak still when compared to the rest of the game and the rest of the expansions.

Pretty much, the worst level design I have seen has also come from God of War. Those spikey spinney towers made me scream profanity in a tongue I am not quite sure what language it was in, but I understood it perfectly well...

Also, i seem to have bad luck with Valve titles. I will inevitably have to spend the better part of an hour trying to negotiate the world before I find where I need to go. After a bit I get it, but in every Valve game it's been such a ***** for me to find the path.

Even though it was already said... SCREW YOU DEAD SPACE! I DON'T WANT TO PLAY ASTEROIDS!

The ship level of Splinter cell double agent that asked you toss stealth, and the basic splinter cell concept into the wind with having to KILL EVERY SINGLE PERSON.

Lastly, while on the topic of ships... Mirror's edge. URGAUAGSHPAZA...

The Library in Halo:CE. They might as well have paid a violent, homosexual inmate to horrifically violate my anus in their delivery of that platter of Super AIDS. It would have been much less painful.

Halo 3 Cortana gave me nightmares, three times, the first run, the legendary run, the point run.
Oh Gods, this one. I had to do it on Easy after six months of not playing. After that, I did it on legendary with my friends. All of those times were hell.

The. Fucking. Berzerker. Level. In. Gears. Of. War. 1.

I had no issues, which is what really pisses me off. It's the fucking AI. It kept walking IN FRONT OF THE DAMN BERZERKER!!! I finally got the last furking door open and sprinted outside and started a laser outside the door, ready to burn him away when he charged through it, and my fucking AI teammate decided it was a brilliant fucking idea to walk right in front of him. The berzerker backhands him towards me half a second before my fucking laser shoots, throws him into the GOD DAMN laser and makes me start the whole GOD DAMN level over and shortens my life by at least fifteen years and gives me my first GOD DAMN ulcer.

EDIT: I've noticed a few complaints about the Library in Halo CE and I have to say... I'm shocked. The level scared the shit out of me, but it was easily my favorite level. I mean, me and my brother wound up hiding in one of the crevices for about half an hour when we got lost, one or the other watching the entrance with a shotgun and an AR while we logically discussed what to do next between our girlish screams, but other than that I thought it was amazing.

Either:
That escort mission (Earthworm Jim's being the worst)
That water level
Every game seems to have a version of them, and they seem to be getting worse.
Predator arena level in AvP
They hype and hype and hype it up throughout the game...
And then I win in thirty seconds throwing the smart disk like crazy.
I'll think of more later, but I just finished the Pred campaign on nightmare and I remembered doing that back on normal

Armored Core: For Answer's mission called Defeat Red Rum and Starka. quote]

What fine sheep you are. Coming staight to the wolf's den for the slaughterrr!

Oh dear god.
There's also the Occupation of Arteria Carpals. 5 of the best mechs in the game, versus you and some crappy maniac, in the worst map in the game.

People keep mentioning Jak 3, how about Jak 2? That game had a least.. a bunch. Bombing the eco wells, assault the drill platform, escape the slums with 90 million guys shooting at you, stop the missile.. Fantastic game though. I actually didn't like 3 as much because it was just too easy.

Hm.. I think stopping the missile might have been in 3. Still awful though.

Lol. I know what to respond with: Almost any water level in any otherwise good game.

Lol, but actually the most notable of these is OoT's infamous water temple.

I think he means the level in the mines where you have to guide the mine cart armed with explosives. You have to find and shoot targets to lower bridges AND fight off enemies. I think the level Soviet Heavy mentioned was worse, however...

I'd say the "Gonarch's Lair" of Half-life. Cramped, and busy. Makes you waste your heavier ammo on a walking birthing chamber.

Volkmeyer's Inferno in Battletoads. You thought Turbo Tunnel was bad then i laugh at you.
Ninja'd ><

Battletoads wins this hands down. Its one thing if the level is just bad. But when it is actually impossible to beat off of skill, yeah. Broken.
Battletoads was in ALL a bad game. A perfect example that you never get a arcade programer to make console games.

IE everytime you die I get a quarter!
No Bob...you don't these kids are playing on a home system.

Everytime they die I get a quarter!

Your a idiot Bob...

And wasn't the point of the whole hover bike was to just purposly hit the warp points? It was almost like they were hiding most of the levels weren't done right. Let's force people to warp pass them...

lol

Any group quest in World of Warcraft, but only because my server is in its death throes, so it's hard to find people with whom to group.

The last few parts of Indigo Prophecy (if you can even call it a game). They took an otherwise good story, and tacked on a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles at the last minute. And not pleasant bells and whistles, either, but those annoying ones kids like because they produce obnoxiously shrill noises.

There are quite a few games, but those are just off the top of my head.

And for the record, I love water levels. Be it the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, or the Sunken Frigate in Metroid Prime, or level 2-1 in the original Super Mario Bros., or even the multitude of underwater quests in Wrath of the Lich King. I think they're peaceful, lovely, and a nice change of pace.

I know this has been said a lot but i can't help it. Water F'cking levels. Especially In Sonic(The classic, old ones. Not the new shitty ones.) Other that that. Ice/Snow levels. The sliding around like a retard (Usually combined with bottomless pits) Is enough to drive me insane.

The Library, for sure. It's soooo repetitive. I'm not saying it was terrible but it was definitely a step down from the rest of the game.

In Mass Effect 1 there is an ice planet in the Geth Invasion cluster where all of the Geth are sat in some kind of basin and there is pretty much only one route to attack it from. Trying to drive the Mako in there for any meaningful length of time, then back it up and reverse it out to repair drove me absolutely fucking insane. I fucking hate that Mako but that was always the point I ragequit. Thinking about it now puts my blood pressure up.

Space in Spore.

I know the patch fixed this, but back when it wasn't around, settlements were attacked every five minutes by enemies or pirates.

It sucked.
