The thing that pisses me off most button-mashers in Soul Calibur. Specifically when they play as Maxi or Voldo.

Otherwise, I can usually work my way around noobs. That said, I don't do a lot of online gaming - a lotta folks in my experience were always jackasses. Especially when I played Runescape many, many years ago as a sweaty teenager. Cries of 'FREE STUFF PZLZZZZZZLZZZLZZ' was really annoying. And kill-stealers.
Rafael's y attack in soul calibur. talk about the cheese master.
Pikachu and ness on a team in Smash brothers. talk about a cheap flipping combination.

How about the classic plasma pistol/battle rifle from Halo 2 (haven't heard as much about it in 3)? Fire off a full charge of the pistol then quickly switch to the BR and fire one burst right as the plasma shot hits. Instant kill. That was actually referred to as the "noob combo".

I don't mind rifle grenades so much in CoD, but I do hate them with a fiery passion in Search and Destroy.
the reason no one mentions it in halo 3 is that they lowered the heat seeking ability and made it so if you just held down the button, the ammo would decrease. You can still use it, but its mostly just for vehicles now. Its also pretty useless in campaign since there are no more elites with shields.

Low grab attacks in basically any fighting game. People keep grabbing your ankles and dumping you backwards really doesn't make for fun

Ooh, I have a brilliant one here for Megaman Starforce 2

Auto Tribe King, tonnes of cheats for maximum Link Power, tonnes of Wave Command Codes, paralyze stage and loads of Time-Freeze attacks

People who ***** because they were pwned in a particular way and "thats for n00bs" are the true newbs.
Every noob tactic has even easier counter if the game is balanced.
Good point. It's annoying when people cry about Martyrdom in CoD4 when it can be so easily avoided.

Problem you will constantly face in COD is bickering like: "you killed me with x perk, x perk is for n00bs" or "you killed me with x gun, x gun is for n00bs."

The AWP in CSS. It's like having an insta-kill gun.
finally someone was shown the formula! when ever i got over to my friends house and we play call of duty 4 and i kick his ass with the m16, mp5, p90 or m60 and he's sniping he can't stop screaming about how i'm a noob.

Here's a question, if done too much, could sniping be considered noobish? I realize it takes skill, but there are some people who only snipe and are crap with everything else. Could one make the case that by specializing in only one aspect, a gamer might achieve noobism, even if that aspect, when done in moderation, is perfectly respectable?

its like the y button thing with raph in soul calibur, using that move as part of a larger combo is fine, and possibly even something to be proud of. its when its used in excess that it becomes an issue. Could sniping be the same?

Runescape - Pures - Combat level, which is a sort of sum of all your combat skills (Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, Magic, Prayer, HP and Summoning), dictates who you can and can't attack, so some idiots ignore stuff like defence and train thier magic to extraordinary levels to pick on lower levels. They also tend to think they're the best in the world...Every one i talk to makes me want to kill them with a cheese-grater.

Two-piecing in GoW2 rather annoys me. Fortunately it's fairly easy to avoid if the game isn't too laggy.

What does Two-Peicing mean? Sorry for the noobish question, just haven't played Gears 2 yet.

Ah well. It's when someone walks up to you with a shotgun, but then rather than blowing you away, melees you with it, rendering you stunned and unable to fire, so they can then proceed to blow you away while you're defenseless. It may sound like a subtle difference but trust me, it's much more annoying that way.

Yeah, that's indeed one of the things all the GoW1 players are complaining about, but I dunno, I think the shotgun is still a pretty nasty weapon. I hear the range has been increased too. (But I haven't noticed it myself, as I never played much GoW1, certainly not online.)

...Well, it probably has been nerfed, but that's not saying much. In GOW1, At close range, the only thing more deadly is the chainsaw, and thats slow as hell. With the shotty you don't even need to stop moving!

Kilik in Soul Calibur III. I used for 13 fights always the same attacks. right + square + triangle, square + triangle, left + square + triangle, left + triangle. Rinse and repeat if the enemy is still standing. I completed 13 fights without getting hit.

If you are a noob in Soul Calibur you have two options if you want to win easily. Use the square + triangle + some direction combos (which are the most effective combos most of the time) or if you want to be an asshole use the throw buttons.

Yes, I noticed that too when I played a round of GoW1 online a while ago just to compare. People were blowing me away with a shotgun just by peeking around a corner some meters away.
By the way, if you really hate getting killed with the chainsaw, you might want to not get GoW2..

Halo 3 - mongoose on the outside ring with the guardians on Sandtrap in pretty much any game mode.
TF2 - Nooblets that can't rocket jump and then scream for a heal. Pisses me off.

How has no one mentioned the Blue Shell of Death? It only ever gets found by the guys in the last couple of places, for whom it is the least useful, and it is (as far as I know) unavoidable. I've heard that you can maybe avoid it but I've got no evidence for it.

Though I have noticed that its appearance was cut back a little in the Wii Mario Kart. I'm still not going to buy it though.
