HOW did that have a fucked up leveling system if I may ask? Hell it was one of the most standard RPG leveling system's ever, this just doesn't make sense.
It didn't go by experience, it went by how often you use a weapon or spell, which just not only over-complicated things, it made everything a grind.
THAT ISNT FINAL FANTASY 4, that is japans FF2, now I can understand why you hated it. You just had your numbers mixed up. I actually liked that system but now i can understand what you were really talking about. The US's FF2 was actually FF4, the REAL FF2 didn't come out till MUCH later.

FFX was the worst out of the ones ive played (all but 1, 2 & 6.)

I really liked the feel of IX, but loved VII.
Mostly because of nostalgia id imagine.

It's really hard for me to say. After all, I haven't really played all of them.

Out of the ones that I played (IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and XII), I'd say that I enjoyed either VII or XII the least.
How ironic that you dislike the most acclaimed ones the least. Not taking a shot at you or anything just kind of pointing that out

Last I heard everyone bitches about 12 and it's the new whipping boy until 13 comes out...then everyone will ***** about 13 and praise 12 *_* Such is the cruel irony of the new FF games.

I agree with you. Whats not to love about FF2's lvling system? Just get into an easy encounter and beat up your teammates until your gods :p

I liked IX right up until they threw a 6-yeard old (or was she 8?) into your party that attempted to seduce the main character. What. The. Fuck.

If you mean FFIX for the ability system then yes I agree, but if it's the story or that then god no :| FFVIII is the worst for me o_O

Hands down is 8 (from the ones I played I haven't played them all). Although I didn't care for that one on xbl either but I think I would rather suffer through that than 8

FF8. hated the junctioning system. squall managed to be an even more unappealing character then cloud and plotholes much.

the scene in which i realised that i hated that game was the scene in which, instead of casting a cure spell like a sane person would, laguna FUCKING TICKLES HIS FALLEN COMRADE! never played the game again.

Lol yea it was so easily cheatable but I still liked it. The sheer concept of the system was brilliant and woth some proper tweaks, exploit control, and balance it would be a REALLY AWESOME system used in today's modern RPG's.

No no, I agree. It's strange, but...well, I don't think they're bad games. They're just not that great. /:

I think I inflated my anticipations way too much for VII. The plot didn't really do much for me...and neither did the characters. I absolutely did not care that much for Aeris. To me, she was just a flower girl that hung around Cloud because he resembled her dead boyfriend. The Materia system was...blech, I just hated it. The graphics are bad...not bad by today's standards, but just bad. The characters are in deformed blocky shapes, the cutscenes look stiff and awkward, and most of the backgrounds are dull and undetailed. Of course, I didn't play this as soon as it was released, which may erase a good chunk of the nostalgia factor...

XII is different. I got XII as soon as it came out. I loved the setting, I loved the aesthetic, I was pretty fond of the battle and level system...but it was booooring. It's the only Final Fantasy where I didn't care enough about the characters or plot to even remember my motivation for what I was doing. I tried so hard to enjoy it...simply because I kinda dug FF-Tactics and I adored Vagrant Story, but it was a no-go. ):

Six apparently. [http://www.ffinsider.net/final-fantasy-9/char.php] : /
Could try and justify it by saying she just had a crush? But I cant remember the story/dialoge that well, so yeah alright, creepy Japanese writers. *fist shake*

I totally agree on XII, I lost track of what the whole purpose was cause I was so bored. I did like that thief guy with the gun though, what was his name

Dear god I remember that moment. WHY would the Garden assign you a pussy gunman who fucking chokes on the job!? The school HAS to be run by retarded moogles...there's no other way.
Well, he was about to shoot the woman who was pretty much his mother...

EDIT:
And, yes, he was the only person in the gang who actually remembered their past.

For me, FF2 gets my vote, mostly due to the broken leveling system.
I agree.

Due to my stupidity at the time, I was unable to get the boat to Paloom, yes, the very first thing you do. So I read the book and it says things such as "Take lots of damage = gain more health". So every battle I would attack myself until all the enemies fled and I had insane amounts of health at the beginning (5k+). Whoops!

I started playing again few days ago and I was in the middle of a forest. The entire screen was a forest. And there is no map. So I quit.

Gah I could have decimated everything with my stats too!

X-2 irritated me for a whole basket of reasons that I probably don't need to go into because it's been mentioned so many times already.

Also, I didn't get into 7 or 12 at all.
