Pretty self-explanitory. Any type of flagrant error worse than a mere RROD or BSOD? Perhaps involving incineration?
Luckily, the worst I've experienced was an in-warranty Red Ring of Death, plus some unplayably-scratched disks that lost me hours of unsaved progress here and there.

This (search-bar approved) topic obviously applies to PCs, consoles, and handhelds of all types.
Halfway through finishing a level in GRAW2 for the ps3, my system froze and I had to restart. Works fine though.
I've been very lucky, I have to say (and this is the new 120 slim one, btw).
You play GRAW2 aswell? Nice after we do Re5 we shall Coop GRAW2. Immense fun coop is.
That'd be great, except I haven't the foggiest how to configure the goddamned router to let me use Ubisoft's server.
And cheers for calling me a fucking twat.

Well this doesnt necessarily have to do with computer failure but one night the batteries in my friends mouse exploded and he then had to run outside to throw the things in the snow because they were leaking. I found this absolutely hilarious and fell out of my chair laughing. He on the other hand did not. I to this day wonder why.

I've RROD'd two times:

On the launch-night of Halo 3, about 5 minutes into the singleplayer campaign, where all my excitement turned into furious rage.

aaannd

5 minutes into the Halo ODST singleplayer campaign, where I realised that I am cursed, and is not allowed to get excited over playing Halo-games ever.

My PS2 decided to go "Hey, I'm going to discreetly scratch the shit out of your games over the course of 3 days and then make a really loud noise when trying to read them indicating that all is not well, but only after I've scratched all the games you actually play"
Mine did that so I introduced it to being thrown out a window since I luckily had the money to replace it and when the replacement broke I got a free one from a place that did repairs which put them high up in the first place to go for me when consoles die

6 RRODs in 5 months.
4 PS2s had DRE issues
Best bit? My Sega Genesis/Mega Drive still works perfectly since 1991, hell even my first game still works.

I had the disc read errors on the PS2. Only on blue bottomed discs. What really ticks me off is that, after the fact, i discovered it was a common issue, but at the time whenever i took it back to EBgames they would act as if they had no idea what i was talking about.

Their standard policy was to always try the game in THEIR ps2, and of course it would work, and i'd tell them "well, it's NOT WORKING ON MY system"..

They always refused to take the system back to look at it, but they would REALLY give me a hard time on exchanging the game that i couldn't get to play on it.

I used the same laptop for at least ten hours out of every day for two years.

-The chassis was cracked in multiple places.
-The screen had no left hinge and the right one was going.
-The keyboard only worked half the time.
-one of the USB slots would short circuit the computer.
-It died by completely incinerating the motherboard and only other USB port.

...It was the best computer I ever had...*sniffle*

The graphics card stopped working good in my 360 and it wasn't covered by warranty, if it was the RROD, it would have been. The color would go all Windows 98 on my and sometimes while playing (I didn't send it in because I was trying to red ring it), it would feel as if I were high on something while playing, not that it's bad, but it gave me a headache after a while.

I have had two ipods die on me. The first time the battery quit working when not plugged in after 7 months and then the harddrive in my second one died out of nowhere after around 6 months. Needless to say I have quit throwing money away and said "fuck you" to all things apple and now am very happy with my Creative Zen. Best purchase I ever made.

My old PC's motherboard was defective and abruptly crashed on me. Fortunately, the warranty was still good.
