A couple years ago, my dog ran past the PS2 as I was playing it. She's not the most graceful of dogs and her foot got caught in the controller cord. When she realized it, it spooked her and she took off running. Yeah...PS2 went flying, cords ripped off the wall, and my game disc was thrown out of the console.

That was great fun. -_- I have only wireless controllers now, and I swear by them. xD

I remember my (really really) old Game boy literally blew up in my hands when I was young, I had burns on my hands and the back of it was smashed.

Mother got me a Game boy colour after that so all was well.

Other than that nothing I can remember.

'Well, hey there! I'm your PC!
What's that, you want to play a nice game of Oblivion that you've spent 20 hours on?
TOUGH.
Now, format me and start again, *****."

This happened twice.

Worst for me was when I rebuilt my secondary computer.

I went to boot it up, all the LED's in the case pulsed like a strobe light for 3 seconds, it was screeching, and I think the video card is dead. The computer smelt like burning; I have yet to touch it since. :(

I never had a system die on me.

Ever.

Proably because i always keep them in mint condition. I wont even put a dusty disc in, much less one w/ finger prints or dirt. always dust the consoles, always run them off the ground and not in an enclosed space. I even put my 360 on risers so there's plenty of airflow under the console too.

Atari 2600
Sega Master System
Nintendo Entertainment System
Sega Genesis
Super Nintendo
Sony Playstation
Sega Saturn
Sony Playstation 2
Sega Dreamcast
Microsoft XBOX
Microsoft Xbox 360
Sony Playstation 3

all working like brand new

Let's see... the worst I've had was over a decade ago. It was a simultaneos fried CD drive, fried hard drive and fried half the RAM chips. Beyond that, I managed to burn down a CD drive every few months. The guys who sold us the first one replaced each one as stated by the warranty without complaints.

Most recently, my GPU started overheating (idle temperature 75C, gets over 100C when working), most likely due to a failing ventilation somewhere inside the casing. Couldn't check myself since the damn thing is still under warranty so it's at the repair shop right now.

On a related note, why is every computer repairman I've ever met a total arsehole?
