I'd do it for free.
I look at it this way: some woman who really wants to have a child, and due to unfortunate circumstance (unable to find a partner, lost their partner, partner unable to have kids, or whatever) needs someone's assistance/help.
And, modesty aside for a second, I'm of above average intelligence, decent looking, etc. so my sperm wouldn't exactly be valueless.

How much do they pay? I mean I wouldn't do it for $5, but for maybe $75+ I would consider it. It's a free resource. Sure, I'd have all these biological children that I don't know that don't know me, but those mothers that used my sperm would probably have husbands who were maybe infertile, who would father the kids. A father is someone who raises you, not someone who gave you your genes. I would hate for the kids to pursue finding me, but at the same time, you could make some families dream come true, and most seem to think that the kid would live a bad life just because he/she doesn't know his/her biological father.
i would donate sperm because it provides couples who cant have children to have them (yes there is obviously adoption but some couples choose to do it this way ) and id like to think id made a couple of people happy

Sure, I mean since i'm gay i'm not able to use it to make kids but since i'm gay I don't think i'm allowed donate sperm, I can't donate blood so why would sperm be any different.
Is it actually possible to get child support from a sperm donor? Seems like an absolutely ridiculous notion; which means that some crazy ***** in the US has already sued for it.Kakashi on crack said:

Supposing that I had high-quality genes, however, I probably would. It's all just protein, after all, regardless of where it came from.
The bigger question seems to be whether the fact that the sperm came from you makes you the true "father" instead whoever raised the child. The latter is true in my opinion.

Well yeah, probably.
Then I'd bribe someone employed at the spermbank so I would know when offspring are produced with my genes.
Then I'd wait until the kid get old enough track him/her down and do my very best Vader impersonation.
