I have the same objections to hitting girls as I do to hitting guys. But aggressive self-defense is just not my style; if somebody attacks me, I will try to restrain them before resorting to violence.

No, can't see myself hitting a girl. Then again, I have a hard time seeing myself hitting anyone. Except when training Kendo, and then I hit everyone equally as hard. xD
If a girl actually tried to hit me with all she got, I would either 1. Restrain her and tell her to stop, or 2. Take out a knife or something and tell her to leave me alone. (Yes, that's what I'd do whoever was attacking me, regardless of gender)

In self-defense, sure, why not? If people bring the pain, they can expect to feel the pain, irrelevant of sex. Wasn't emancipation all about equality?
If she really deserved it, I have to say I would. What's the point of campaigning for equality if you'll still pull sexist shit like that.
If a girl was beating me I'd call the cops. If you strike her back even once and she takes you to court, a man would have absolutely no chance. I know that there is a Cracked article about women being significantly more violent then men in relationships but I can't find it...

I'd do what I always do when someone hits me: intercept the punch, twist their arm while positioning myself at a ninety-degree angle to my assailant, grab their other arm at the elbow, and knock the legs out from under them with my right foot.

In serious circumstances, definatly. My friend really confuses me with this because he thinks that hitting a girl in any situation is bad. Even if your life is in danger, which I think is just really, really stupid...
I try not to hit anyone. I even learned Aiki-Jutustu with the intent of being able to use it (If I had to) to control someone, rather than violently attacking them.
That being said, I have this weird paradoxical approach. I roughhouse with girls a lot, but I was raised with a "never EVER hit girls" mentality, and it's hard to dislodge that, even in self defense. But since I don't like striking people in general (At my size, even a love tap can hurt someone), I'm not sure I want to, either.
But I will, of course, still roughouse. And women still love using me as a jungle gym, even if for nothing else.

No. restrain and push. But if she can fight (as in more skilled than I am) then I won't hesitate to save my own ass.
As a girl, I was always taught that if I was willing to hit anyone that I should expect to be hit back. Yes, I've hit girls but it's generally easier to restrain them.
Yeah, I'd hit a girl if she was assaulting me. If she was just beating on me, I'd punch her in the gut, then push her away and leave. IF she had a weapon, then it's all out, and I'd level her, I don't screw around with weapons no matter who's using it. I'd throat punch the dallai Lama if he came at me with a weapon.
