Pretty much what the title implies; would you hit a girl? Not as in beat your wife, but if a girl was physically abusing you, as in punching/scratching you and causing you actual pain.

Was having a discussion with a friend of mine about a third friend whos girlfriend was actively beating him, and because of this stigma around hitting girls he never raised a hand to protect himself.

To be honest, if a girl was actually hitting me and trying her best to beat me up i would punch her in the noggin without thinking about it after exhausting other venues like talking and holding.

If your friend is being subjected to domestic violence he should seek help if he feels able to and if possible get the fuck out of that relationship.

Pretty much, though I would probably do the same for a guy (unless they were too strong to pin, in which case I'd probably punch-and-run, but if a girl was too strong to pin I'd do the same). So yeah, I'm an equal-opportunities weakling.

I'd go pretty far without hitting somebody, but if the situation called for it, I wouldn't discriminate based on gender. Or at least that's the plan, maybe I still wouldn't, not so much because it's wrong as I want to avoid all the flaming I'd probably get for it.

The only reason you're not allowed to hit girls is because they're perceived as weaker, which as I understand it is a notion that society is trying to move away from.

But like I said, you'll have to push me pretty far before I resort to violence.

Serious answer: if she attacked me I'd probably tell her to stop unless she wants a punch in the face. If she continued... I'd punch her in the face.

It depends on the situation. I wouldn't swing first, but as soon as she tried to hit me, I'd slap her upside the head hard enough that she wouldn't repeat it anytime soon.

I have the same philosophy with men though. I prefer to avoid physical violence, primarily because I'm fucking huge and when I get in a fight, people tend to get hurt, and I've empathy enough to not want to hurt people.

Too many women have tried hitting me under the pathetic defense of "You're not allowed to hit girls", and the entire crowd villainizes me if I ever get the gall to dare to defend myself and not take it like a b****.

At best, I hit either gender at same strength. At the absolute worst, I'm so bitter I hit girls a little harder than I do boys.
