why... not apply this to something like... a neurally based mechanical prosthetic? sure you still have to get the power-source to be small and efficient enough but... dear god that's cool never-mind. o_o

This is a huge waste to resources, all hate on furries aside. They can make brainwave controlled machines and waste it on freaking cat ears? Why? Why is there a demand for this? Who thought this morning after waking up "Hey, it would be cool to have moving cat ears on top of my OTHER ears to wear in public?" Apply this to prostethic limbs and other useful items, brainwave controlled anything really, THEN make this kind of gimmick.
we actually had this earlier for some kind of mental obstacle course it was commercially availabe too

Ignoring the fact that I've never understood the appeal of girls with cat ears, the technology behind them sounds really cool. It's like the mood ring has been updated for the 21st century.
LOL seriously...yay ears?? I don't get it

but I do get mood rings tho

Ah shit, the fucking furries will be all over this.
Your Avatar made this post incredibly Ironic :p
How exactly? Amaterasu is a wolf. Nothing anthromorphic about her.

That's like saying it's ironic that I own a dog.
well it kind of is since ammy is a goddess in wolf form.
i think this is pretty cool though maybe if the could make a cap with dog ears...
And since when have gods been humans?
well as described by a ghost with a third eye she appears to be a fair maiden

it strange but am impressed that it can go up with the power of your mind. if only they could now use this theologically for something more useful then cat ears. over all i seen stranger stuff from japan so i will approve of this

Am I the only one who thinks this is all bullshit? How exactly does a headband "detect brainwaves" and "concentration"? If it was that easy to minaturise this shit, why are CT scanners the size of vans?

Umad?

No but seriously, it doesn't have to appeal to furries, afterall they write or draw on the subject of anthropomorphisism, not nekos, inus, etc.
I'm interested though.
EDIT: I think the ears go too low :/

Not exactly what I'd use that kind of technology for (Prehensile Monkey tail anyone? :D) but that's cool nonetheless.

I googled the word "inus" and got a tonne of japanese porn and corgi dogs, wtf does that word mean?
Neko is the japanese romaji for "cat," Inu is for "dog." "Jin" means person. So, the word neko-jin means cat-person. Inu-jin means dog-person. Both of these fall under the category of kemonomimi, literally meaning "animal ears." Kemonomimis are not furries, either. They are essentially just people with animal ears and tails. Usually nothing more. Now, furry fandom is much different. They're anthropomorphised animals made to look human. Two different concepts that don't go hand-in-hand and anyone making a knee-jerk reaction against furries (not you, quotee; I'm speaking towards others in this thread) are really just displaying ignorance of the subject and anger towards a fandom that is irrelevant to the subject at hand.

OT: I think they're very cute, but they look pretty bulky.
