I don't understand how a sequel could be possible, the world is there, already made, there is no more to it. all they can do is add expansions...or remake it. How do you make a sequel to something that is an MMO representation of existing lore? Make a new 'Azeroth' and pretend nothing else ever happened?
Or, possibly, place us some time in the future- say, 20 years or so- where the results of all that questing done in the first game actually show.
Don't get me wrong, I like playing the game, but it seems kind of silly that after four years, the Crossroads is still just a handful of buildings with tarps around it, Gnomeregan still hasn't been retaken, etc. etc.
I will say this, though- please, PLEASE don't listen to the "OMG gimme fotoreelistik grafix!" crowds. I played through the LotRO beta, and I actually got headaches trying to pick out necessary details. It just didn't work for me. Sure, I'd love improved textures and higher poly counts (both optional), but I don't need to feel like I'm looking at a photograph.
