Well that was a waste of an hour. Absolutely nothing I personally care about. No addressing of nasty rumors either. I'll admit that there are some neat features, but most of them felt superfluous and they barely even talked about the games. Ghosts looks fine, but as someone who doesn't play COD or sports games, there was virtually nothing in there that appealed to me. The stupid teaser for quantum whatever was probably the most baffling part. I guess all the sports fans, COD fans, and people who are utterly taken in by convenience will be happy. This really set a poor tone for the future of XBOX (not that I ever liked it in the first place).
Also, is everyone pretty much in agreement that the name is dumb? I get they were going for a simplified approach, but it just comes off as confusing and has no impact.

They announced one exclusive in Quantum Break. They also said they have 15 exclusives they will release in the 1st year, with 8 of those 15 being new IPs. That should be enough for you until E3, which as SSJBlastoise said is the reason they didn't go into detail about the games.
Just like Sony this was a console reveal to show specs, tech and features. The games will come, take a chill pill.
For those bitching about the fact that they didn't really show off any games, this was just them saying "Hey, this is our new console and this is what it can do." It was nothing more than an overview of the new system. I wouldn't expect anything in the way of actual game announcements until E3 which is only a few weeks away.

Soooo. Yeah. This basically confirmed my thoughts that the Xbox was going to be about ordering pizza and watching TV rather than playing games. And it looks like a VHS player from the 90s. Good job I wasn't going to buy one anyway.
So far all of their game announcements weren't exactly shockers. New Fifa, new Madden, new CoD. Stop the presses! And I couldn't help but laugh at the Call of Duty thing. It's basically the plot of Homefront. And apparently character creation is innovative, I guess Rainbow Six Vegas was just a figment of my imagination all along.

I suppose this could all be seen as great, if you're a CoD player. But really, most of you would have been happy if that game just came out on the 360; the sales numbers for every CoD game basically says as much. If you aren't a CoD player then they really didn't show a single appealing thing the entire conference. Objectively speaking, it was much worse then the Sony one (how is that even possible?) with an even greater apparent distance between them and their understanding of their audience. The fact that they brought 343 on to talk about a SHOW and not a GAME... I just... wow, just wow. I mean it's great Halo is getting a TV series, but really what in the world does that really have to do with a console? they could have announced that at ANY time. Did they really have so much of 'nothing' to work with?

One question that I'm trying to answer is what are the 7 established, exclusive IPs that will get new game in the next year? I can think of are Halo, Gears of War and Forza 5. Does this maybe mean we might see another Perfect Dark game? I'm sure I'm missing obvious ones because I'm tired but if anyone can help name them that would be awesome.

They seem to be pressing more towards the idea of dominating the living room, that's what the TV is all for. They understand people don't play games too, I guess they are trying to be widespread in marketing but they know they've got hooks in all the right places.
People are too cynical on this site, the presentation wasn't HUGE and BREATHTAKING, but it was enough, it kills all those dumb rumors and allows us to get a look until E3.
Like it or not pure gamers are a minority slice of the pie now that consoles can do everything that was shown just now.
What Microsoft just revealed wasn't a console. It was an Entertainment system. It's an ingenious move and I expect Xbox One to sell a whole lot of units to people that don't even play games. Those sports/TV deals alone will bring in a far wider demographic.
Games aren't the primary be all and end all of a system now it seems. The market has evolved and Microsoft has seemingly evolved with it. I know almost everyone will see this as a negative thing but the REALITY is that pure gaming consoles are obsolete from a business perspective. Sure they could've gone that way. But by creating an Entertainment device instead of a console has opened up the opportunity for one of these to actually be in every home, Which I think is a SPECTACULAR move on their part.
The exclusives with EA (Despite General gamer opinion their sports games make a ridiculous amount of money) NFL, NBA and COD (I think they mentioned something about a partnership) Have pretty much ensured this device's success regardless of how Pure Gamers feel.

And Quantum Break, something that has somewhat peaked my interest leached it all with that horrible live action segment and that half a second of ingame footage that I called would be: "One shot of the main character, few shots of an explosion/catastrophe and an enemy dying.

"But what if a second person simply wanted to put the disc in and play the game without installing ? and without paying extra? In other words, what happens to our traditional concept of a ?used game??
