What possible benefits could this have on PC over a 360 controller? I have no issues sticking with a 360 controller....especially since I just got one the other day. Works great but it feels odd when I put it down and put up the PS3 controller.
And yet, people will go out of their way to get a more ergonomic keyboard or mouse. It's like there's already a built-in explanation within your example or something.ActionDan said:Can't see much point in getting one, honestly. The games on PC that control better with a controller (which aren't that numerous) work just fine with a 360 controller, or I imagine with a lot of other third party controllers. Unlike consoles, PC users don't need to change keyboards of controllers with each upgrade.
If it plugs in at all, likely a USB port. The proprietary connectors are for the headset plugging into the back for "accessories," which has nothing to do with connectivity of the unit itself and should in no way impact PC gaming.Hero in a half shell said:Wait, didn't the Xbox One have weird unique ports for all it's controllers, headsets etc. so you couldn't use any 3rd party peripherals on the machine? How will it plug into the computer?
Apart from that it's quite a nice thought, although I agree with the people saying it'll be a windows 8 exclusive, you just know it will.
Reduced dead spots on the thumb sticks, better response, a D-Pad that isn't complete ass, something about the triggers.antidonkey said:What possible benefits could this have on PC over a 360 controller? Wait, what?MinionJoe said:Unfortunately, my PC isn't online all the time, so I'll be sticking with my off-line capable 360 controller.
And Windows 7.
And really, the most logical explanation isn't that other people dislike something you like, it's that they just haven't given it a shot. This could all be solved by a Don Mattrick-esque "eductation" program on the matter people stopping the undesired behaviour of having their own likes and dislikes.WeepingAngels said:Love how the Windows 8 hate makes it's way into every related thread. I wonder how many people who hate Windows 8 have actually used it for more than a few minutes. I have been using it since the beta and while it isn't perfect, it isn't as bad as people say. In fact, going back to Windows 7 on my laptop is a pain now. Windows 7 is slower.
No, but all RTS games use hotkeys. Unless they are made with a controller in mind, which tends to create a poor quality game.FreedomofInformation said:
Because all RTS games are Starcraft. One wonders what the players would choose if they weren't restricted by the rules. The Plunk said:You crack me up, mate.
I wonder why professional Starcraft players use Keyboard+mouse, rather than a modded Wii U controller. Could it be something to do with macros and keybindings, perhaps? Or maybe they're just yet to recognise your genius.
Videogamers should be expanding their horizons instead of limiting them.
People have tried playing FPS games with mouse and keyboard vs Gamepads. Mouse and keyboard was and still is superior to gamepad or any other device. Same would go for RTS where you just don't have enough buttons for the game.FreedomofInformation said:

Well thank god you aren't overlord then. Personally I actually enjoy the RTS, FPS, and space sim genres, none of which work well with a controller .FreedomofInformation said:If I were the grand overlord of gaming, I would ban mice and keyboards in their current form for the sake of gaming.

And with a glowing endorsement like "it's not as bad as people say," who wouldn't want to jump onboard?
Doesn't yours gets worn out over time? I use an Xbox 360 controller (which I got almost 3 years ago) and the left stick's soft casing got worn out over time and now I come in direct contact with the plastic. I was going to get a new controller anyway and I'll probably go for the Razor X-input compatible controller.KeyMaster45 said:The current controller I use with my PC works just fine, why on earth would I ever fork over the money to upgrade to an Xbone controller? (Outside of my current one bursting into flames, and even then I'd just buy a new one through e-bay)
No, not really, none of my gaming equipment really ever wears down. I've had my 360 PC controller for just as long as you have and it's still in near pristine condition, and I do use it quite frequently. The best explanation I can offer is that I take meticulous care of my electronic stuff; I don't even know how my stuff lasts so long.Doom972 said:Doesn't yours gets worn out over time? He gets to stay because punishing him would make the republicans in the basement accuse the mods of leftwing bias.Scrumpmonkey said:Owning about 6 different Xbox 360 controllers, two of which are wired and look/ feel almost new, i won't be seeing the need to 'upgrade' any time soon. It looks like the same controller with (i hope) a slightly improved D-pad. Microsoft needlessly inconveniencing people. Business as usual then.
The combination of your avatar (I'm not even going to address that) and your baffling posting adds up to you essentially trolling. This is why we need proper moderation around here. People get warnings for 'low content posting' and technicalities like that, yet deliberate wind-up merchants like this clown get to go on vomiting all over the forums.FreedomofInformation said:Herp derp Wii-U RTS
